I realized I actually didin't put the finished thing here:
Spoiler: ANYWAY (click to show/hide)

I think I'm actually getting the hang of this. I guess it could be better though... maybe if there were some... you know... WINGED HUSSARS in it? :P

Some inkydoodles. Inktober is but a month away.

More animation. I think the fading out occurs way too fast, though.

It's kinda hard to read the second line of text.
That's intentional. The character is waking from a dream sequence, and I'm trying to represent the song in the background fading out.

It's frustrating, though, because the reader naturally wants to finish the sentence. I'd suggest either making it fade out more subtly or making the entire sentence fade out at a different rate than the Chapter One sign.

Spoiler: Hair-robed girl (click to show/hide)

Another piece, I think it's alright but I only just noticed the anatomical errors. Namely, her shoulder. I'm proud of how I did with the face, though. :)

Another season, another Ludum Dare. Did the 72-Hour Jam again. The theme was "Ancient Technology", and our Team's project was a Village Builder x Tower Defense hybrid based around the development of early technologies, and a special surprise for the ending. I did art, music, and a bit of code, but not much high-level Game Design this time around. LD also featured Delicious Yakisoba (only recorded here in proto-yaki form), which is technically another thing I made I guess?

NOTE: There's a considerably more polished Post-Competition Version due out tomorrow afternoon, which includes the music and SFX.

It was a pretty good time! Looking forward to the next official one though; it's not the same without the judging. :3

I started learning how to use Maya today as part of my ongoing effort to improve myself. This was the result:

I was following this tutorial, except I was too lazy to sign up on his website to download the textures he provided, so I just used whatever random files I had in my images folder.

Hands are too big, hat's off, and my hand cramped before I got to the shoe. Anything else glaring?

How's this?

I do like that version a lot more than the previous. Seems good to me.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

His legs are too short (you want to aim for your people to be about seven heads high) and he's pretty tubular, but otherwise decent.

If your hand is cramping up you may be holding your pen oddly. It's not a problem I've experienced in the past, although I may just be lucky.

Try converting it to webm? The loss in quality is usually not very noticeable.
