I like the gif although not having contrast between the bg and the character is a bit jarring.

Or maybe not jarring enough is a better way to put it. Blends in too much for my tastes.

Better? I do want a generally dull aesthetic. I was poking at making it almost monochromatic aside from a few splashes of colour.

Darkening the shadows or the background could possibly work too, although i can totally see your deal with having only two shades of purple. :v

In other news, i was practicing QUICK SWISH CIRCLES and then i swished this bad boy down.

In ONE SWISH, WITH NO CORRECTIONS. I AM PLEASED WITH THAT. Also yes i've lost my delicious aliased lines, blame Krita 2.9 for that. :c (but to be fair, it can fill out smooth lines, so that's arguably even better)

Did a drawing for a roleplay. This is the cast!

Almost no shading, but it looks pretty good. Discussion earlier was right, it is easier to do humans front-view. Still, I think I did okay.
