Holy crap, Jopax, that's amazing.
What are you doing these card designs for? Because that's like, M:tG quality imagery there. Possibly even better.

It's for an indie card game a friend is making. FB page here.

Also damn, someone thinks I'm as good as the folks doing MtG, that's like, I have no idea, just...

Sat down yesterday to practice drawing bodies, got frustrated, and drew a tree instead.

Spoiler: sticky (click to show/hide)
It's a framing tree; there should be some appropriately wintry scene in the lower left but I couldn't think of what to put there. Also, it took me far too long and it's not even shaded.

Spoiler: hueg (click to show/hide)
This is amazing! I'm assuming your intention is magma-creature, but the coloring and its shape and especially the mouth make me think of halloween =D

So, I drew something random. It's not very good yet, I am currently re-learning how to draw (I was better at 13). Fantasy mostly mail armored halberd-user-something:

Oh and by the way, where it says sorry there is a spot of fat >_< Anyways, it became pretty much invisible upon scanning.

It's pretty good, actually. Keep truckin'!

I approve of the reasonably realistic armour!

Thanks, Arx!
As much as I love fantasy, I also want it to look like it could work.
The next try should go online today, at least if my scanner is nice to me.

I'm going to comment on those after midnight when my internet is capable of opening them within my lifetime.

@smirk, yeah it's some sort of rock/fire monster thing, the mouth is gaping because it looked rather goofy originally but that didn't mesh with the rest of it so I made it a bit scarier I guess.

Also, I officialy declare that Sunday is cloud day:

Cloud day, eh? Okay. In honor of that, I decided to try my hand at doing some clouds entirely with filters and masks, and I think I've done much better than on my previous attempts. Proper stuff will still probably require me to do some actual painting with actual tools, but as an exercise in procedural generation this is probably pretty good.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Maybe just the Placebo effect, but they do look like they're moving, which is pretty cool.

Also, I feel really dumb. At first, I thought that Jopax' card art (which, by the way, is awesome) was for greeting/birthday/Christmas type cards. I didn't realize that it was for a card game until flabort mentioned M:tG.

how did you do that
In GIMP.

Render>Clouds>Solid Noise
Layer>Mask>Add Layer Mask
On the Layer Mask:
Render>Clouds>Solid Noise (Make this one Turbulent, make sure you have a different seed)
Duplicate Layer
On the Duplicate:
    Layer>Transparency>Color to Alpha (Choose White)
Copy the Duplicate layer (which should contain only the shadows from your original cloud layer)
Paste this onto the mask for your original layer, then delete or hide the duplicate
Play with Artistic>Oilify, Noise>Slur, and Blur>Gaussian Blur filters on both the clouds themselves and the mask.
Also play with Brightness/Contrast on both the clouds and the mask.
Make a layer behind the clouds and dump it with a blue color.

Pretty straightforward, once you realize what you're basically doing (you need to preserve some of the original dark regions in order to give your clouds shading, which is a fact that had eluded me for too long, but you can still use it to contour what's visible by overlaying it onto the mask so that the shading fits the actual shapes).

You can probably get different shapes of clouds by varying the parameters of various things; for instance, bulkier clouds could probably be had by not making the second render turbulent. That sort of thing.

Jopax's cards continue to be spectacular.
