Finally getting around to this thing. I genned a world, first try, with the perfect conditions (only downer was the megabeasts, which were a very lacking bunch with most of the cool ones being dead and replaced by lame stuff like giants,) got an
excellent embark party in terms of personalities (including a pessimist and a commerce-abiding optimist,) though the castes left something to be desired - three commoners, two houndmasters (blunt weapon users and animal trainers,) musketeer (ranged fighter, she got saddled with woodcutter duty,) and a plague doctor (useful overall, but she's a bit on the cowardly side.)
The only thing I really lack is suitable looks for most of them - the people of The Dark Church are mostly very samey looking, with bronze eyes being universal it feels like, and shaved heads being in vogue among both men and women; muttonstaches are also extremely popular among men if the houndmasters and leader are any indication. Although I'm keeping the leader's game name of "Bun." Yes, his name is literally "Bun." It's the best shit ever.
Hell, their god of war is called "The Great Hero," their current pope is a Crusader, and the place they're set up in just lined up too fuckin' perfectly - the next closest people are cannibals, mutants, husk-afflicted, and green flu victims, with the buffer consisting of a dangerous mash-up of savage evil flesh marshes and savage good woodland that extends from the evil mountains to their south up to the inhospitable glaciers to the north.
The initial cover, with words...
And without.
Not my best work, especially the fire and faces, but I just wanted it done. If anyone wants in on the fort in question, in which I'll be playing as the Light Worshipers from ZM5's Dwarfest Dungeon mod, if it wasn't obvious, lemme know. Still, it's gonna take a while since I still need to finish all the prologue pages despite having embarked, and that shit's gonna take a while...
