I happen to also have a freakishly complicated apocalyptic setting which is technically fanfic. :V I don't draw a lot though, I hang around here because other people draw shiny things I like to look at. My thing is a roleplaying game that I am very gradually building because I like the concept too much to half-ass it.

Vandringsmen prologue pages 1 and 2, such as they are. A bout two months old, haven't worked on it like I planned to.





Second page is read right to left, I had just finished reading a manga when I worked on it and it caused me to derp up, but I've committed at this point, so I'm gonna run with it. Also drawing coats-of-plate is a bitch and a half and painfully time consuming. But that's what I get for going for more realistic armor.

Who knows, if there turns out to be enough interested parties I might even make a thread for both projects.

Aaa sorry you said "realistic armour" and that triggered my trap card.

A CoP has much fewer plates than that, arranged in two columns down the torso if it fastens in front, or only one if it fastens at the side. IIRC it's usually somewhere around 4-8 plates per column. They're each quite short, to allow bending, and usually riveted to the inside of a sturdy jacketing material like canvas or leather. Braveheart style CoPs are basically completely inflexible and have no place in the real world.

They're also much easier to draw! It's like a sweater vest with rivets. If you're committed to the look, though, look up klivanions (sometimes romanised as klibanion) - it's a lamellar cuirass that looks a fair bit like that.

Aaa sorry you said "realistic armour" and that triggered my trap card.

The armor's taken from a skyrim mod that renders far more realistic armor than is typical for the game (for example, the swordsman is wearing the mod's hide armor, which looks, y'know. Like actual armor.) I simply referred to it as such because some forms of it were as close to it as I could find (with most lamellar looking most like the vests the hero and that swordsman are wearing by what I found.)

I suppose technically it'd be more correct to regard it as a brigandine, since it more closely resembles this illustration of one. It just doesn't have an additional layer of material over the plates. Either way, this particular style of armor that I did draw is a bitch and a half since I was copying it more or less directly from this (dude on the far left; the protagonist is wearing what's on the far right, and the swordsman is wearing the second from the left.)

And note, I said realistic, not 100% true to life. I do have some more leeway with drawing than I would if I were making an animation or a live-action thing after all. 

Though with that mentioned I gotta say now I can't play Skyrim without the mod in question. Everything looks too godsdamned fancy and/or impractical without it.

No, don't worry he's still alive. Bless Ino it's just a Twilight monster groom, and not the female of the specy, he doesn't have the jaw strenght to break the neck outright. Sula (blue) will have some nasty scars and according to his subsequent lines, will be traumatized for a long time tho
