Won't mass highly upgraded weak units utterly destroy a normal amount of highly upgraded strong units?

They all increase at the same rate, so not really.

Wrong, they get the same flat bonus... And their prices diverge royally. Still, what of the other question? Are the costs for that kind of upgrade based on the current bonus, or solely on the number of times it was researched? If it is the later, I can easily see some unlucky fellow stuck with relatively weak and nigh unupgradable units.

I too would like to offer a truce, in spite of the distance between us... And let's be honest, the reason everyone in the mainland, including CyberGenesis, wants to sign up such a treaty with you, is the $7000 Land Military investment.

Not really, the way the modifiers work, pooling your whole economy into an invasion would be lethal for him. You'd also end up with two developed homeland spots. The only reason for which you shouldn't do it is how dull it'd be to do so. Also, if he got to read your turn before the next one starts, he'd easily cripple his economy to force a stalemate. I reckon it would come up to who got the best 1d4s out of the LM research.
