See you some day, Sheb.

What is your plan for not dying?

Wiping out enemy stacks fast enough to not get overrun. That's the basic plan.  :o

Them Hoplites are tough as nails. No heavy cavalry is a pain, but.. Meh.

I have trouble racking up anything better then like a 2-1 kill ratio with this mod.  And I hate having to siege so many full defended cities.

I love the new wooden walls though. Wood walls that can hold archers? Yes please!
At the same time the "tier 4" walls are simply bad.

Who did you play as anyway?
Also : Balistas are a good unit with this mod. (A tip of sorts, i guess)

I tried the 3 greek minors, Massila, Syracuse and Cyrene.  All three cities are so interesting from a historical standpoint but frickin' hard from a game standpoint.

Possibly possible?

You can take out your northern neighbors without pissing off the Romans or Carthaginians, then sail east to the greek homeland and snap up some rebels for your third city.  This gets you enough to upkeep your starting army without taking on the big dogs.  At this point the Punic wars start by event and hopefully it will be possible to make something of that situation.  It helps that you are securing greek culture cities at the start so you don't need expensive colonies.  My game bugged out on me past this point though so I can't say what to do next.

Let's Get Murdered : RTW - VH/VH Numidian Campaign (Part 53 : Iberia is Ours)
« Reply #112 on: February 19, 2012, 08:38:35 am »

Parts 50 to 53 have been added. Greeks, Julii, Egyptians, Pontic, Gauls.. All of them get a taste of Numidian Steel Clay.
I recall someone being worried about our situation?  :o

In other news : I have received an information that my RTW:  Alexander is waiting for me in the store, and thus the Syracusan showdown will begin.. Soon.
While mainiacs advice is stellar, as always, we shall pick a.. different route. Punic Empire is powerful indeed, and Romans are a terrible foe to face. Thus facing both of them, from day 1, looks like a good idea for my very last Total War LP.

Win against impossible odds, or die trying. No other option is acceptable.
Have faith, Sunny Jim, as You too will be a general in our army. With control of your own action.

I got all inspired by your bridge battle against Pontus and... well...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Keep up the good work, and high body count.  :P

I would love if I could get a character in the Syracusian ARR who is the cowardly sane adviser who's advice of caution is continually ignored.

Not sure what kind of witchcraft was involved in creating that art, but i absolutely love it   :o Thank You!

For D.Mountainjoy portraits i would personally use this one :

Which i actually placed inside the game for the Syracusan AAR. I was going to start it today (already had "New Topic" opened) but imageshack has become very annoying to use (5 clicks, 3 loading pages and 14 adds for a single image link), and i must look for a better site to upload images.
Suggestions are welcome.

I would love if I could get a character in the Syracusian ARR who is the cowardly sane adviser who's advice of caution is continually ignored.

I went for a different route. All 'advisors' are represented with the Bay12 Council of Stworcagrad (Immortal trait, Immobile trait. Permanently in Stworcagrad)

And only those who request a general-general will move out in the field.
This is because there are many types of generals in XC, some of them have simply ABYSMAL traits, and majority of them is not listed on family tree. (Governors)
Another reason is the fact that we start with just 2 generals, and not many perspectives on gaining new ones, with a debt of 20 000 by turn 4. So I've turned Leptines of Syracuse into a non-family member Bay12 Council.

And Hiero.. Well..

Another issue that i'm facing is that there are some active AAR's going on, and i wouldn't want to seem like a dick (lower case, not Mountainjoy) by popping in with my own. I'll kindly ask the creator of EB LP what is what.

Finally : i should probably update the index, eh?

Fine by me, the more the merrier. Even more so when it's not strictly vanilla.

For imagehosting I'm using imgur and it's worked fine for me so far. Quick and easy to use. Be aware that if you upload several dozens of pictures at once, one or two of them might fail to upload. But that's the only gripe I've had with it.

This may be a silly question, but are the images for Bay12 council and Dick showing up? I ask, because on my stationary i couldn't see them, and on the laptop they're present..  :-\

Edit : Wait just a minute. I see it on opera, but not firefox.. Is it just me?

I see the little girl screaming "attack" but I can't see the council unless I access the url directly.

http://postimage.org/image/x9sm9kcip/ <- Somehow that doesn't show up with the IMG tag.

Edit: I use Firefox.
