Notes

By gum, I forgot how long doing this stuff takes. Expect that all future turns will take longer than this.

Deities, remember that you need worshippers nearby to do stuff.

A couple of people got the short end of the stick this turn in terms of stuff happening to them. Sorry about that.

Temples and equivalents work to amplify the divine power of the faithful they service.

I hope I didn't get too many things wrong about peoples' entities. If I did make a misstep, tell me.

Turn 2 will be 1000 years long.

In the northern Crymit mountains, the creature, who, unbeknownst to itself, had been given the name Zjelldursin, continued feasting on the mountain's interior, and on the occasional Crymit who moved too far from the safety of the central nests. It's outer hide now consisted of not only various types of rock and ore, but also of patches of Crymit-carapace material, which had been incorporated into its hide from some of its victim's remains.

Meanwhile, in the southern Calx sea, something had been awakened and attracted by the new sounds in what was once soundless expanse...

Niklas valued the Clax's selfless bravery but needed dtronger servants. He spent years among them, emporwing them for the tests he shall soon give out. However he did not forget his other followers.
Actions:
Niklas goes among the Clax and convinces themto build a temple to him. He also injects within their race the raw power of the Beyond. Giving them powers beyond mortal compheresion. He also goes to his other followers and convinces them to build might temples in his name.
A typical Niklian temple is a massive obsdian (or any other black material on hand) structure whose room are formed by giant, hanging cages. The main floor area is a worship chamber cast in darkness. With a statute of Niklas lit up by lights. Behind the statute is a pitch black chamber where those who show promise are given tests in which they face their inner fears

Isn't that exactly how cathedrals were built in medieval times anyways? :P

It's their own fault for not having evolved building skills yet. The younger stages just move the dead to help stop the loss of life. Then I splice their shit up with Lovecraftian shit and see what happnes.

Or you could try to imbue the young with the power to move the dead. You know. . . .necromancy. But for the sake of building. it could have other implication later, actually.

Seeing the troubles in the lands of  crymits, Omoloth did give aid. He looked upon his obelisk and commanded it, "aid the people, but do not direct them."

The obelisk resonated a chiming sound, for hours without end. Finally, after three weeks, it stopped. While seemingly useless, the people living near the obelisk discovered that they "knew" a way to hold off the advance of the enemy. Traps, secret walls, paths that led no where.

Bless several crymits with the knowledge of traps, deception, and planning.

Omoloth then looked upon his followers among the Retha and thus spoke through the obelisk, "elect a council to lead amongst yourselves."

The song was as a blessing unto the calx, granting them the wisdom and comfort of a thousand ancestors echoing through the deep. Its power waxed from year to year, letting their voices carry further and further even as it faded from the hearing of the lower life-forms. The few calx that heard the whispers of Niklas attributed the song to his benevolence, and the rest were willing to accept it as such.

The faithful knew Niklas's desire: He spoke to them of a temple, shrouded in darkness. The calx knew of darkness: It was the great coldness that brought hunger and sorrow when the sun was banished by night and storms. The temple would be at the heart of their reef, built out of coral on a plain of basalt. It looked for all the world like a pair of vast coral webbed claws reaching out of the gloomy depths to grasp some unseen object.

It whispered with the prayers of the faithful that built it, still living within the walls. They asked their god of strange and impossible things, that he explain the colour black to their sightless souls, that he reveal his unknowable form to them, that he bring the sun below the waves to light their temple.

Put all 5 EP remaining into explanding the song into the radio frequencies instead of the normal audio frequencies. This will allow it to carry much further (assuming the weather is favourable) and to be inaudible to people without the ability to hear radio frequencies.

Expand the reef to hexes 20.11, 21.10 and 21.11, with a temple to Niklas at 20.11

The calx already have building skills. That's what the hermatypic trait does. It lets them build stuff out of coral.

Grek, I think it would be useful if you explained what exactly the Calx's curse does, to know what will happen in future encounters.

It inflicts the same sort of damage inflicted on the coral to the victim's skeleton. Breaking the coral breaks bones, scraping them scrapes bones, etc. etc. In your case, breaking the coral would make your creature's exoskeleton crack or, failing that, make the gemstone eye break.
