Is it just me or my blobs are slowly turning into spawns of Kyuss?

little change on commoners/emperors ration, so I have less than half of them sieging in the high counsil. 5000 emperors and empress total.

Note that I am not made out of crystal: The flesh of Crymits look like red jelly, and their carapace may look like gems, but they are not.

Send soldiers to inspect troubles. Be careful, the rumors says it might be the legendary forgotten beasts, the Zjelldursins.
Yes, I decided to name the poltifar's blobbys "Zjelldursins".

I'm fairly sure you don't pick your population numbers, but rather the GM does based on your multiplying factor.

Or you might be, ironically, measured by biomass. Such is the case for the blobs.

Ah, but that is also based on your multiplying factor.

the GM didn't precised the Emperors/commoners ratio. So I adjusted it in a way that reflect the view I have of it.
I will not modify it anymore.

Unfortunately the multiplying factor for your emperors is 1/1000, which means that for each population unit you have 10 emperors (and 10 million commoners). It might not be too late to change your multiplying factors though.

I want to join in with this. It looks, intreging. I want to take a role of one of the species and know I will have to wait for a new GM to enter before actually playing any roles,it would be good for this species, due to the way it is and my plans for it.

Ah. Good point. I am thinking that is more of a oversight though then a exception to the established game mechanics.

I use the word mechanic lightly because the way the game is set up I don't believe that they have anything to do with the actual game per say, and they are just a RP tool. At this point at least. A tool no one uses and it seems quite a few misunderstand (Looking at you guy who said his tentacle crabs are about as big as a head but have the physical powers of a fruit fly.)

That is note quite it. Due to their insane rate of reproduction and diet, as well as how utterly weak a single individal is in and of itself, they are measured through biomass, not population.

Yeah I will believe that when the actually GM tells me that and not the guy that just put a question mark in that section.

I can screenshot his PM, but is that really necessary? The ? was, initially, simply due to my uncertaintity as in to what an appropriate multiplier would be, but we ultimately settled for mass. Just check the GM's post on my race, it specifically defines its current value -.-

Yeah, me and Azthor came to the conclusion that it's not really possible to assign a population to his species given how it works. I actually came up with the one kiloton to one population point value by guessing that RulerOfNothing's Retha had a mass of about eighty kilograms, working it out from there, and rounding it up. Of course, that method isn't exactly reliable. One of Poltifar's blobs clearly doesn't weigh one million kilograms. Well, probably.

I also found it amusing to measure his population in kilotons because that unit is usually used for measuring the yield of nuclear weapons.

Criptfeind is correct in that population doesn't really matter. My main concern is to maintain some kind of balance, and the only thing that affects game mechanics is population points. Feel free to change your ratios.

I want to join in with this. It looks, intreging. I want to take a role of one of the species and know I will have to wait for a new GM to enter before actually playing any roles,it would be good for this species, due to the way it is and my plans for it.

Excellent. Adding you to the waiting list.

I believe everyone's posted. I'll resolve the turn in the next couple of days.

When Niklas wandered the world, spreading terror throughout all that lived, the Calx did not recognize him for what he was. He was great and terrible, but also so very distant, far above the waves. The sparks of bravery that the Calx showed could not be missed, however: They were a race born in terror that could not survive without courage:

From birth to change to death, each of them was utterly alone in the world, without lords or champions, with neither mother nor father known to them, only the vast emptiness of the stormy sky above. Without any comforting voices, they carried on, living as well as they could in utter isolation.

Their flesh was weak, made of jelly and slime. With neither claw nor shell nor bone nor even the sting of the true jellyfish, the children of calx were utterly unable to protect themselves from the terrors of the deep. And yet they explored the waters, heedless of the danger.

As they grew older, the children began to feel the call of the sands, an urge to nestle down upon the floor and cease to move. They knew not whether it would kill them, destroying their minds as their bodies were petrified, and feared it. And yet they changed anyways, unwilling to let their people die out entirely because they themselves feared death.

They knew not whether the Gods watched, nor even if there were any. But perhaps the gods knew of them? Perhaps even one smiled down on such a brave species?
