It was in the Fourth Era that the culture of the Calx first begain to flourish, for many strange happenings had shocked the people out of their complacency. The taming of the Titan, the emergence into the upper air and the second comming of Niklas all made the reef strange with new ideas.

One of the strangest ideas was that of the Record. A few of the most elder calx, the wisest coral in the deep, had come together to pass on their lore before thep passed on themselves, and thus declared themselves to be wise masters who would teach students only if they would promise a year of service, reciting the Record of history, of tradition and of all knowledge held by the calx for all to hear, carrying it to the far reaches of the reef. Each year new students would join and pay their tutition in service and then become educated in the ancient lore, some going on to become masters in their own right.

Many subjects were contemplated: zoology and theology at the shrine of Niklas [20.11], meteorology and astronomy in the northern sea, [21.09] and geometry and architecture along the southern shore [20.13], where a strange doorway had been built in a age long gone by.

It was the blessing of Niklas that inspired the theologicians at Calx'yleth to study the creatures of the sea, which had once been viewed as trivial and unimportant for their brief lives and reletive uselessness. It soon came to be whispered that those Holy Masters taught by the Hidden Master (as Niklas was called there now) would be able to part the muhwa with a hymn, to compell a thrimet to emerge from its hole or a mhwap to flee in terror, and to induce the goblops to scale the coral towers and emerge into the upper air. It was also thought, at least in the east among the Retha, that the wise masters could use their godly powers to imbue the creatures of the sea with the power to walk upon the lands.

In the north, the calx became far less observant of the power of Niklas, and proud within themselves for it. They had unravelled the secrets of Sun without the aid of the Gods, and proclaimed that they were NOT the power of Niklas shining down upon them only to be extinguished, but rather a great orb of light that moved through the heavens and sunk below the horizion each night. They too had discovered the secrets of the Moon, of the wind and waves and had set to work on forseeing the motion of the clouds and the passage of rain through the heavens, all without the blessing of Niklas or aid from the Gods at all. And, strangely enough, it was they who held the tallest tower, as Niklas had ordained in secret to his faithful, not for his glory, but for their own use.

And in the south, there was the Door, which was a thing of right angles and straight lines not found in the deeps, which inspired the Masters of Shapes to bend their bodies with stone and and shell into strange shapes unnatural to the calx, with flat surfaces and hard angles, in hopes of obtaining the mystic powers of the Door thereby. Corals became cubes, pyramids, spheres, stars, thin rods and flat planes in those seas, with shapes stranger still interspursed. And in doing so they discovered much about geometry and the myraid ways in which stone and coral can be made to move as one into a new whole.

-The Calx form settlements around the spires at 21.11, 20.13 and 21.09, centered around the teachings of the Wise Masters that live in the spire there.
-The Calx work out the patterns of the Sun, Moon and Tides and experiment with new forms of coral based  body modification/architecture.
-Those blessed by Niklas work hard to master their new-found powers, trying to control sea creatures with it.

Good point, but the difference to Omoleth is that they didn't request aid from him specifically the other times. He's crazy like that. As for Dura, that's the point. Lets just say they won't be Crymits if they accept.
Well... Either you meant "if they refuse" or I can expect something radical.
Nomino'Armori, dysnag [king of a whole dynasty] of the Armorinag dynasty (northernmost dynasty (08.02 hexagon), main city being... Armoriloy. This is the city actually isolated by Omoloth (and is not really important by the way).) Try to get more information from Omoloth on what are they going for, but do not insist if said god don't want to reveal. If they can't know what "blessing of Dura" is, Crymits will make a quick debate on what to do. Based on the previously good action of Omoloth toward Crymits, they will accept his offfer.

The largest communication crystals in the empire of the Crymits empire began to hum violently and arc magic without any warning, startling several nearby. A shifting, ancient voice echoed forth.

"Is this thing work- Ah, there we go. Ahem.
I have heard word of your work to create a crystal to hold magic, as I have heard your summons for a soul storm to aid you. I present you a compromise. Prove to me you truly grasp the fundamentals of how this would be created, and I shall provide the details. Good? Good!
Oh, to the city isolated by quakes, I am eager to see how you proceed.
"

As quickly as it started, the broadcast stopped.

For the city (Armoriloy), workers dig as fast as they can from both ways. But according to Omoloth, it won't be enough (sadly).

The crystals I want will be somehow based on Orange ones, as they can absorb magic and release it on a predetermined form. But Contrary to the orange, the black ones won't release it immediatly. The magic will be stored in the ultrastructure of the crystal, which will be designed in a fractal way to hold a maximum amount. The outer part of the crystal absorb all magic radiation (as simple as painting something black), and a thin layer just beneath is designed to shift configuration when receiving a precise impuls on a precise location. It may be as simple as putting a red (glowing) crystal on the right zone.
It will then trigger configuration changes in the crystallin web that lead to a magic release. This release can be anything, but for practical use it will mostly be directed to one direction, in one blast or in a stream, depending on the effect wanted. The released magic also come out "refined": water, air, fire, light, lightning or even raw arcane energy.

The biggest problem is that, in our actual state of knowledge, it is hard to determine the proper equation for the medium structure. As in, releasing the magic in a controlled way is the hardest part.

A strange being appeared among the Crymits. It looked like an emeperor but was much taller than any Crymit alive and was swathed in some sort of red robe. Its face was two glowing oints of red and a glowing red mouth seemlingly stretched into a sneer. The being glidied up the steps and through the doors of the Senate. It glidied up to the middle and made its annoucment. I am Niklas, God of fear and hope. I have come bearing gifts. You need crystals that can store magic, I have such  things. A pure black crystal appeared in his hands, it radited fear and terror to the Senators. However I need something in return. Build agreat Cathedral to my on your highest mountain. This cahtedral shall be just below the clouds. Do this and the crystals shall be yours. Don't and I shall never make this offer agian. The figure began to fade away. I am waiting

The senate is quite impressed by the appearance of a god before themselves. The Draioth's offer earlier seemed quite preferable to them, but they don't want to offend a god. Debates started on the right thing to do. Some want to build the temple and get the crystal, increasing the chances to get what we want, but some are concerned with the "fear aura" of the crystal and think there might be something about it.

After some time they decided to build the cathedral and get the crystal (hoping Draioth will not be offended). They will study it, and if some undesirable side-effect appear, it might be sealed.

Draiotch isn't really the type to get offended, just interested. He might help refine the crystals or help create more in exchange for some fancier libraries or something, or he might just do his own thing. I'll see when I get around to writing the proper turn, which should be sometime tonight.

Hoping Draiotch will have some comment/response to the colony of calx growing on his magic doorway.

The crystals of the crymits once again sprung to life, humming out the voice of the god of secrets.
"I'll help you further refine and create of of the gift of Niklas in exchange for some more comfortable libraries, if you want. I notice some of them are a little spartan. This only proceeding with the permission of the god of fear, of course."

Shifting his gaze to another point of interest for him, the door which had so recently been infiltrated by one of those blobs with the eyes. Zjelldursin, the Crymits called them. What he saw, he found nothing less than adorable. The field of geometric Calx he found so fascinating that he simply had to reward them for their inquisitiveness. Speaking to all and none of them at once, Draiotch spoke the secrets of further dominion over geometry and shape, even that which did not specifically conform the three dimensions.

In a cave of the uninhabited northern mountains, a species bipedal creatures made their home. Draiotch began to speak to them... Speak was not the correct word however, better suited to the way he communicated to the other gods and chosen races. No, Draiotch screamed magic to these beings. They immediately began to change growing tall and thin. Their forms began to shift and shimmer as the laws of reality stopped applying for the most part. Finally, after what seemed an eternity of torment that left the very rocks of the cave pulsing with unknown runes, his creations were complete. Constantly shifting, but always tall, thin and imposing. Constantly moving, but never in the traditional sense. Constantly refusing to be seen beyond a split-second glance. These creations would become an extension for his will for the next stage of his plan.

At the back of the cave, a doorway formed. Somewhat alike the others that led to the Praeclusium, but very different. Whereas the doors of the praeclusion were mysterious and inviting, promising reward and a safe haven for those that could solve their puzzles, this one held nothing but contempt and foreboding. Opening on its own, the door held nothing but the wall of the cave behind it. that would soon change. About half the beings wordlessly shuffled and slithered to the door, seeming to seep into the wall before it melted into a hallway of bricks. The others began to leave, some using the mouth of the cave while others walked through the rock.
"Well then. Let's see how this works out."

Draiotch offers to further develop and reproduce the crystal of Niklas in exchange for better furnishings in libraries, with Niklas' consent.
Draiotch grants the geometric Calx further understanding, not strictly corresponding to three dimensions.
Draiotch Creates mostly incorporeal minions designed to collect knowledge of things that should not be known and bring it back to 02.05. (The definition of collect in this case usually being "Rip the thoughts from their minds while they're not looking.")
Draiotch creates an unnamed subterranean structure at 02.05. Designed as the opposite of the Praeclusium, it holds not things that all sentient races should know, but what they should not. (This does not apply to knowledge granted directly by player gods or directly through evolution.)

since my "books" look like (and somewhat work like) this
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My libraries may or may not end up looking like this
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

 :P

Only with more crystals instead of plain stone and orange instead of blue.

To be clear, Each Crymitian city must hold a library, each containing as much knowledge thay can, and double as temple of Draioth. Everything must be adorned with complex engraving and crystallin formation. walls alternate between sturdy stone and mosaics of crystals. All around there is pedestals that hold no statue, but a orange crystal wand. When activated, it make appear a magic hologram of someone (usually a respected scientist/philosoph/magician) that go and dispense pearls of wisdom.

Well, the waiting list is open, but it won't start moving unless I get someone to help me out with the GMing.

I don't suppose you'd be interested in that? If not, I'll find someone else. People are starting to pile up.

At the foot of the great spire at Draio'yleth, named for the new patron God of the settlement, was the Door. It opened on a strange place, visited only by a few calx in history. All around it grew corals in complex shapes with straight lines and sharp angles, forming outlines of strange symetrical prisms and interlaced faces of bewildering complexity. No longer did those calx look like trees so much as lacework fortresses of absolute geometry.
And among them a name was whispered, a name that had come to be to be the namesake of their settlement: Draioth. Day and night, night and day, they puzzled over the secrets revealed by the new God, hoping to discover the secret of the doorway and how it breached the dimensions. They knew that it could be done, they had both the numbers and to the words to describe a thousand and one theories for how it worked, but they didn't quite understand how to reproduce such a marvel for themselves. But still, they tried. The calx were nothing if not patient, after all.

In Calx'yleth the worshipers of Niklas fumed and raged and condemned the citizens of Draio'yleth as fools and madmen, while at the same time denouncing the unbeleivers in the north (who had yet to name their spire, having no use for such frivolities) for their lack of faith and laughable desire to build a tower taller than any other, to reach up past the clouds and live beyond the reach of weather or wave. If it had been any other race, there would have been a bloody civil war and a tremendous loss of calx lives and the destruction of countless priceless artifacts. But, it was not to be so. Perhaps fortunately, the calx were utterly incapable of hurting one another, being too soft in youth to do any meaningful damage and too slow in old age to mount an assault even on the scale of decades, let alone days.

And as the Calx were divided, between the three towers and the three philosophies, a fourth faction, upon the Tower-That-Was-Not-a-Tower wandered the oceans in the east. Where it would next emerge, none could say.

"Not a problem at all. I have no qualms with creating more entrances to the Praeclusium within moderation, and I plan on creating a shortcut to my little project in the mountains when it is better established."
