If you treat EP as a fact of the game world rather than a necessary abstraction, then yeah, calling it a blind idiot is stupid. But equally, if EP are real, then you can't have a god of evolution, since gods can't do anything to change how many EP people get. I assumed that since you're playing a god of evolution, you're going to take the interpretation that allows you to do that.

gods can't do anything to change how many EP people get.

How is that relevant? I'm not you. I don't use EP. I use DP. To the same effect. To say I can not change things or evolve critters is ignoring the simple fact that I already have. I already have made a subset of Azthors blobs virtually immune to predators.

I don't need to use or make EP.

Also yes. EP is most likely a abstraction. But the fact is it exists. You are the one who controls it. Unless you are calling yourself the blind idiot what you said was incorrect.

That's not evolution, though. You get DP from having worshippers, and (at least in theory) use the DP to benefit your worshippers. It's more like genetic engineering/terraforming/nation building by our alien overlords. EP is a direct function of time.

And yeah, I am RPing an evolution. If I was playing an intelligent designer, I would be spending my points on weapons to deflect Poltifar's obviously foreshadowed attack, rather than infrasonic whalesong.

That is simply not true. What you call "genetic engineering/terraforming/nation building" is not differing from evolution in any important respect.

At any rate, this argument is starting to drift off track. The core here is: Am I a powerful and directional catalyst for change and evolution? The answer is clearly yes.

The original question was "Is the Uncleansed evil?" I say yes, very much so. His modus operandi is a protection racket: Cause a supernatural plague and then offer the victims the choice between conversion and a slow agonizing death. The fact that conversion offers benefits doesn't significantly improve upon things, since you can presumably bless your converts without the extortion, plagues and mass murdering.

It's cool if you want to play an evil plague god, I can totally understand the appeal. I'm just saying that you should own up to your supervillany.

Have you tried? All the other gods get away with it.

Really? The other gods have made a vast change to a whole species? The cost of doing that without them worshiping me would be absolutely astronomical.

The important bit is that plagues effect hexes, thus I can plague a hex with only a few followers in it for a small amount of DP, but changes like I gave the plagued blobs effect population points. Which is very very expensive when they do not worship me. Impossible most of the time in fact. So I had no way to change them before they worshiped me.

I was refering more to their ability to reward the faithful without killing everyone else.

Oh. Good for them.

I am not them. My actions have both been wider ranging and more powerful. Their actions have been minor and honestly somewhat forgettable. The only actions they have done that I can even remember are so far out of my domains it is not even funny. I am not all powerful. I can not give you crystals to talk to each other. Or... What. Tell you to do stuff? Yeah. I do that. Sure. You will notice I killed very few this turn. No one in fact from what I have seen.

Once again there is no way to make sweeping changes without the people you are doing it too worshiping you. Honestly? What divine things do you think I could do that would make any impact but did not effect whole populations.

A handful of mages making those speaking crystals is enough to take full advantage of that gift. A handful of blobs immune to predators is worthless.

I totally support this point of view. Even if it's partial and incomplete, this is more or less what my species understand: "I give you unnumberable plagues, and I can make you immune. Convert and live as plaguebearers, or refuse and die horribily." "Well, I'm sorry but you're just threatening me. You won't have my faith."

Not for a while. These things take time. Besides, we're still waiting on micelus and Noodlerex, unless I'm mistaken.
