I know it's fairly common but I killed 180+ people in his civilization before I went after him. I was kind of hoping for something a bit more substantial than a sucker punch and penis theft.

V is for Vultures

Vultures!  >:(
My fort was starving during Summer of the first year because they carried off all my food. Underground pantries are now one of my highest priorities on embark.
(also, the flying scourge is a lowercase 'v')

Yeah, I remember the first time I got them.  Who'd guess that carrion eaters would like cheese so much...

One of my soldiers charged into one of those pesky flying things and felt 15 stories.

This is all well and good.

Just make sure you tell her that there are no pictures of most of these creatures, so she has to make up the details on her own. Why you ask? So she doesn't go around googling their names.

Before you know it all children on the block will know what the word "crundle" means and you are the parent who has to hang his head in shame.

I lived with a family with young teens some years back. They did not understand why I would play Darwinia as to them "it looked terrible." They sat right down and proceeded to play Warcraft III mods, which isn't much of an "improvement" in graphics or gameplay.

To the OP, your daughter deserves her very own beard. I recommend crotchet or knit.
