I have a few beers (that I hate) left over from a friend visiting and half a bottle of vodka. I could get drunk while alone at home.

But that is probably a bad idea as I don't need my blood thinner than it already is after the amount that I lost on Thursday night.

I met up with a bunch of friends, picked up another friend from work and watched the fireworks. There was talk of going to the beach or making moustache-shaped biscuits, but we were all pretty tired by that point.

Really want to reach into the screen and punch that 2K Games rep that claimed that strategy games are non-contemporary (which is why they are making Call of X-Com: UFO Warfare). Really had enough of these disingenuous assertions.

I guess now the new X-COM game is going to have some base building and squad management parts. They noticed all the flak and had the developers run through the original game a few times.

So I got invited to a new years party. But its 2 hours away. I don't really have a place to crash afterward. And I don't really know if I am up to drinking and partying. :(

Spoiler: -snip- (click to show/hide)

Sorry, but we appear to have multiple New Years threads.

Anyway, lacking means to find out where the above-mentioned shindig is at, and no other available friends, I anticipate I'll be home alone for the evening.

As such, if folks would like, I'm totally down with ringing in the new year with a 2012 Livestream Aztextravaganza! Provided I can get these subs to work, we can watch "Mysterious Cities of Gold", a 1980s classic French/Japanese anime set in the Spanish colonies of Mesoamerica during the Colonial Era. It actually sounds pretty cool! If all else fails, there's also Part 2 of "The Hogfather", and some other fun things we could do. If you're home tonight, feel free to hop on in!

Invited to a party that started ten minutes ago, but nobody ever gets to these things on time unless they like milling around and talking to the two other guys who got there early. So I'm leaving now, and plan on getting there just as the party actually gets going.
