Link is surprised at how well that worked.

Luigi misses. Poor guy, this was one of his few chances to look and act cool at the same time.

The Spiked Gloomba tries the same sort of attack on Link again. Despite Luigi and Link's efforts to dodge, the attack is a direct hit. Link falls backwards, dead. It would take a truly legendary White Wizard to revive him.

Luigi pockets Link's corpse, storing it in hammerspace. It weighs him down, but he shoots off a couple fireballs anyway, toasting the living Spiked Gloomba. The battle is won! Luigi gains 15 EXP!

A light can be seen to the east. Perhaps a cave exit?
