THE FAT GUY eats a live bomb and releases an EXPLOSIVE BELCH. He takes ten whole points damage! But his SCALDING HOT BELCH BREATH runs over Luigi and Link's faces, dealing 5 and 3 damage to them respectively. The plan was a double edged sword!

That's factored in, but I often forget to write out the plusses in the tags after jotting down the results beforehand. It's part of why he usually hits (note that the +2 isn't for damage unless specifically stated to be so such as in bombs or Fire Blade)

All's needed is a single strike. Luigi takes up Link's blade once again and slashes at the the fatso, dealing five damage!

Aside from innate Human flame, Mustache Points are only for physical actions right now. Luigi can't use healing magic! Too bad there aren't any RENEGADE DIM-WITTED KOOPAS around here.

The plan takes off without a hitch.

The battle has been won! Luigi and Link level up!

Luigi must choose between:

The Violent Option: +2 to attack roll and damage when using weapons.
Inner Flame: Spend five MUSTACHE POINTS to become FIRE LUIGI for a few turns without the use of a FIRE FLOWER!
Power Strike: You can spend two MUSTACHE POINTS to do 1d6 extra damage on top of a regular attack.

Link gains:

First Boss Completed: +2 MAX HIT POINTS

And must choose between:

Sword Spin: Attack two enemies at once at the cost of three MAGIC POINTS. Adds the MAGIC POINTS stat.
Power in Your Wrist: You can cast low-level spells of a limited variety. You have to discover them first, though! Adds the MAGIC POINTS stat.
Fairer Fairies: Get an additional +2 to finding fairies each turn.

Nah, those all healed Luigi immediately. They're gone now, similar to the health drops in the Zelda games.
