Sorry 'bout the update lag. The flash was stalled for a few days due to a college project. Right now I'm working on the sprites for it.

In my personal opinion, I think the normal sprites look just fine.

I'm probably going to change up the normal sprites anyway, since it would be weird to do the flash with new fancy sprites and then switch back to the old ones at the end.

Naw, especially given the general video-game aesthetic. Kinda like playing FFVII and having everyone go from little 3d caricatures with no fingers or mouth to a super-detailed FMV and back again. It'd be cool to have chapter starts and the like be more detailed and realistic, but I wouldn't worry about making the regular sprites super-pretty, especially if it interferes with update frequency.

Hmmm... I haven't put in as much work as I should have on this lately. Here, have one of the songs that's going to be used in the flash:

It's randomly generated using a touhou song as input. Obviously I edited it a little afterwards. I also have concept art and sprites, but you don't get to see them yet.

Let me preface this by saying "I'm sorry." Sorry to the readers who were expecting an awesome flash with a totally cool fight scene and rad narrative and dramatic music. As much as I would love to wave my magic hands and produce something like that, it's not within my capabilities. And by "capabilities", I don't mean I couldn't actually do it. I mean it wouldn't be anything close to what I would like it to be without requiring weeks of works that I don't really have between school, my social life and my other games/projects. That makes me sad, but it's life. I'm going to have to either start small doing smaller flashes and work my way up to getting both fast and really good with it, save an actual flash for the end-of-act or both.

Instead, you get a regular, totally cool in-game sequence. So here it goes.



>Luigi: Hit the crack with your hammer.





>Dry Bones: Exposit on backstory and motives.



The party crashes through the newly-opened wall like a bull into bull fighter who was just a little too slow. Poor bull fighter. Luigi and Link walk in first. Dry Bones follows.

"Oh, man, do I get a sense of de ja vu 'ere." Dry Bones looks up around at the vast generic cave. "Guess I should prolly explain to ya' two what me knowin' those folks was about. Ya' see, I was on a mission to kill one of both the Mushroom and Beanmean Kingdoms' greatest foes before. They helped me out a lot before I headed to where I was goin', even gave me shelter from the guards, despite me bein' Bowser-loyal at the time."

They all walk a bit deeper into the cave. It's dark except for a little light from the ceiling. Something else can be seen up ahead.

"Since we're all friends 'ere and 'ere's no super-duper time pressure, I guess I oughta tell ya' my name, eh? My name is..."
