@ahra, to be fair everything but the castle itself is unwalled and the southern enclaves are ironically the safest places in the settlement because almost all nobles who act like a military live there.
@hugo, wyrm and deathsword, everything noted
Spring, during which Bretonnians meet the elvesJamcat and Lloyd were watching the settlement from the roof of the castle waiting for the group of nobles that were sent here by the duke, still fighting with the illness.
"Hey, Jamcat! Over there?"
"Where? I can't see anythi.."
"In the SKIES."
A huge eagle was coming their way. Jamcat prepared his weapon but was stopped by Lloyd. It was lady Cecaeyici. Even though she was a woman she had respect many male nobles would only dream of. The eagle landed on the roof shaking the building.
"Greeting Jamcat and Lloyd son of Hugo." She said. "My companions will arrive soon. I hope my room is ready?"
"Welcome o'noble lady" Lloyd helped her get off the eagle "I will show you the castle and your room."
Peasant have gathered on the market square confused by the sight of a great eagle. It was once again Pokonic's duty to calm them. Luckily for him he didn't have to as a group of migrants joined them. Two ladies went straight to the castle to rest. Two knights went to the tavern where Deathsword was waiting and the migrants got their houses and jobs. With 40 members of the settlement it was time to build another tavern. The migrant Grathius Ekatujengu, former trapper, offered himself to run it as he came from a merchant family.

Kharne was the first one to see the wood elves incoming. He kept it low as he didn't want to alert both the elves and the nobles, waiting for the outcome. It was the Ahra and Wyrmsgold who greeted them. Instead of the arrows and blades the elves had supplies and clothes. They were in a hurry but insisted to trade with Bretonnians and demanded their leader to speak with them. Not a single peasant left their house with those strange creatures on the market square. Elves themselves didn't show any strong emotions buying weapons and armours from us. Jamcat got from them a pegasus, flying horse, a truffle hound and food.
The elven leader warned the minor noble of skavens, rat-like humanoids that were coming to invade this settlement and said it was time for Bretonnians to prepare the dolorous items.
Dolorous was the mythical green metal stronger than steel. Jamcat's seen it only once when a grail knight visiting his father's castle showed him the dolorous blade he got from Green Knight.
As the elven leader was speaking another caravan came nearby.
"Elves again, my lord?" asked Sirus "What is the meaning of this?"
"The proud high elves of Tuthu Iwethe." said Pokonic looking at the banner "it's a bad sign."
High elves had the same warning. Bretonnians had three months to prepare as the enemies would attack them in Autumn.
The question is: how are the Bretonnians going to response?
a) trust the elves and start preparing for fight neglecting the other important projects like the castle
b) trust the elves but don't prepare as we are ready for everything with our superior armours and weapons
c) don't trust the elves
d) don't trust the elves and kill them as the other races, magic and forces of chaos don't belong in our glorious settlement
