Kara Seena, Hammer Goddess Fort Mommy, Entry 3, 17 Limestone:

What in the name of Caspa Clearedhaven the Still Day of clearings is GOING ON HERE!? I watched a MINER grab a log and construct a wall in front of me. I cannot conceive of any reason why this should be going on. I don't have children. Don't think I will, either. So, this place is my house and everyone here is my child. And right now? They need me to tell them what to do. None of this running around willy-nilly, everyone doing what they please and leaving things incomplete everywhere.

Did I mention I'm losing weight?

And that I'm making bone breastplates for everyone? And organizing them for mandatory weapons training, by work category?

I'll conclude this entry by noting that we are going to do this MY way. And MY way involves - wait, we have a high master stone crafter?!

(The rest of this page appears splattered with ink, almost as though someone had let out a primal scream and upended the table)

I tried to power build stuff I believe :P and it seems your going to use the quartermaster :D just a thing to note, any dwarf with the "Mining" or "Woodcutting" Labor will refuse to use a military uniform (until disabled) but they will still claim the armor/weapon (haven't tried to see if activating their squad makes them pickup thier equipment) just a heads up :P but everyone else will wear what they are told.

I don't believe you.

:P
GREAT SCOTT! Wish I have found this sooner, going to drop this link into my modding notes. Looks like I'm bringing the Quartermaster back, just gotta include a quote from that topic on how to use it. Thanks lol

From the journal of Xenir,
I have no Idea what's going on, I don't want to know, and nor do I care. Somebody else has taken over the fort. Also, bone breastplates, bone breastplates everywhere.
Oh, well, off to chop some wood and kill zombies!

That sounds gay. It's not. It's fucking terrifying.

Olin isn't fucking around this time. He knows it'll take more punishment than a BDSM expo in a tornado made out of serrated blades. So he hits it until the head is mush. Then he hits the body until it's got a soupy texture too. When he's done, it doesn't look like a cat. It looks like a fucking meat puddle.

Kara Seena, Fort Mommy, Entry 4, 25 Limestone

Someone seems to really enjoy defying my orders. No body part is useless. None of it will be burned. Since I cannot stop automatic firing, the kilns have been deconstructed. I will not tolerate this. Gods DAMN it, I swear I will put my morningstar through the head of the next useless person to BURN MY WORKING MATERIAL.  Also, migrants. I am not thrilled. Nor am I thrilled by our new uninvited guest.

On the positive side, a kitchen and still have been built in the longhouse. Orders have been given to brew alcohol - we're out.

Entry 5, 15 Sandstone

Mones Somethingoranother gave birth to a girl. I'm busy damming the river.

Entry 6, 16 Sandstone
Talde the Woodburner and Mispi the Trapper got married! No party though...

Entry 7, 4 Timber

The river has been successfully dammed.

Entry 8, 7 Timber

Not only is the farmland dug out, but Osmah the Woodcutter and Thola, a Tadin's Man 3 (whatever THAT is) got married! No party though... Crops will be coming soon, I have no doubt. Oh- Nitho has been assigned to be our Broker as the man most suited.  The gnomes must be arriving soon...

Entry 9, 17 Timber

Gnomes arrived. I've also taken the liberty of having a midden pit dug out to toss all of the bones into. INSTEAD OF BURNING THEM. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE THAT DID IT. Mostly, I'm tired of seein' bones everywhere.  ...a dwarven caravan arrived. Welp. Time to move EVERYTHING to the depot. Two traders at once? MOVE IT PEOPLE, MOVE MOVE MOVE!

Entry 10, 23 Timber.

Two traders in our fort, and a siege inside. I do not like this. I suppose we had better kill things, shall we? Oh and a woman gave birth I don't care too busy killing zombies in the farm notes later

Haha Burn Useless remains just gives a chance to make charcoal from nervous tissue, hair, nail/claw :P but for story wise I like it.

And Tadin's Man 3 getting married :P Tadin is dead but his soldiers live on. I think Seto (the lazy) still lives... He is pretty badass for a normal warrior human.

I had already tried damming the river but I made them Ice bridges which.. well.. melted lol the river source is to the south.

Oh dear zombies... I hope there are no Skeletons lurking...

26 Timber -

Another premature baby brought on by the zombie horde.

Oh, yeah. We killed that siege and sent 'em home running! Those we didn't kill, at least! BAHAHAHA!

Oh, and it seems my lovely friend who is the head broker just got us a lot of food, weapons, cages, barrels, and gemstones. We're set for this upcoming year! SO stoked right now!

KILLING IS AWESOME!

8 Obsidian:

Out of a sense of whim, I walled off the lakes closest to the river and part of the river itself. I have no idea what it can be used for, but it would serve well as a start to building individual homes. Why, not for me, of course! I had the murky lake by the castle dug down to the stone, and sealed its surface with two feet thick of ice. The stone is being sealed, and my bedroom is being set up!

On that note, the farms are producing. Rat weed is closest to the fort, then Longland grass. After Winter, I shall set them to work on building a strip for rope reeds and the like - my bedroom is likely to  be cold, and hollowing out a side chamber to line with tapestry-ropes would provide much warmth indeed.

What's this? A fey mood?

Glorious, How do you find the hoard? would they be something that a starting fort should fear?
