Osmos stood at the gate where everyone was gathered "Evil is at our door! We are ill prepared, And what iron and steel is to be fasioned into Armor. We will meet this evil, this undeath that stinks up our world. We will Purge this darkness in which there should be only light!" Seto and Tadin stood there blank looks on their face "Kem! How is the armor coming along?"
"Well I used all iron, using the steel now." Kem whispered to Seto and he nodded, Seto and Tadin started getting their squads together. Why didn't they listen to me? And what did he say to Seto?

"Osmos! Ther... The.."
"Xenir, breath. How many undead are there?"
Xenir took a few deep breaths
"16 zombies, sorted from kobolds and elves, to humans and dwarves."
"Well then goto the forge and pickup any armor you can. We will put them to rest."

A few Moments later

"Seto you will goto the west, Tadin and Heskarl you take the east. Me and Xenir will take the north, when you are in postion we charge."
"Why are we going to the front?"
"Because Xenir we are to most armored, if we draw their attention from Seto and Tadin we can surprise them."
"But they are undead they won't get surpised."
"Ah but that is their downfall, they hunger. Like wild animals they will charge blindly to get at our flesh."

And the battle begins!

That was a intense battle, to think next siege will be bigger :O I don't think we will survive.

EDIT:
Kill count
Xenir made 2 kills (20 points to allocate to STRENGTH, AGILITY, TOUGHNESS, ENDURACE, HEALING, IMMUNE SYSTEM)
Anderz 0 not even a capybara :(
Kara Seena a few animals but nothing special.

With the loss of Tadin I longer have the sway of his men, they are still loyal to him but they won't listen to me. And one of Osmos's whelps took the place as captain, I still have Seto and his men but I would like at least 20 fighting men. Damn those zombies for putting a halt on my plan, now I have to persuade that whelp and take back Tadin's squad.

27th Obsidian 102

An gremlin invasion from the deeps, there spawning pool must be somewhere close in the caverns. All they need is water to multiply, and the location of my fortress is near the last local source of water. Well guess what, this is my cavern now and they ain't getting my water. Everyone was called back to the surface and we waited for the filthy beasts, but after the doors were locked and the soldiers were outside did I remember something. Most of them are unarmed! After Tadin's death I had told everyone to drop everything because he wanted to use a crossbow. Now they are all unarmed save for Osmos, Heskarl, and Xenir. Too late now the gremlins are here, and the battle has begun.

I could hear the manical laughter of the gremlins through the door where me and the civilians huddled together with Kara, and two other soldiers as our only protectors. I could see a shadow of a bird through the incomplete roof, it had a small humonoid on it. Then a deep clicking sound that a croc makes, also the sounds of hands and feet connecting with skulls followed by high pitched squeals. I even heard the thud of wood as somebody was using their shield like a deadly wooden wall, And then the sounds grew fainter as they were pushed back into the tunnel. Someone pulled the lever to lock the tunnel from the caverns to stop the escape, only the gremlins on birds managed to escape by flying away.

OOC:
Sorry I forgot to take screenies of the fight but this is the current kill count of named humans (that arn't mine)
Xenir 4 kills (40 points to allocate to STRENGTH, AGILITY, TOUGHNESS, ENDURACE, HEALING, IMMUNE SYSTEM)
Anderz 1/2 kill a giant rat (one more dangerous creature to get a full kill)
Kara bunch of wussy animals.

From the journal of Xenir,
Two fights already. Managed to kill four. Two zombies, two of those little gremlin things. I hear we lost Tadin, I didn't know him very much, but it seems he was well liked. I'm continuing to train with Osmos, but there's a lack of support for the guy, which is a shame, because he is a good warrior.
Ah well, back to... whatever it is I do when I'm not training. Maybe I'll take a walk...

Olin isn't fucking around this time. He knows it'll take more punishment than a BDSM expo in a tornado made out of serrated blades. So he hits it until the head is mush. Then he hits the body until it's got a soupy texture too. When he's done, it doesn't look like a cat. It looks like a fucking meat puddle.

Xenir's Stats update:
STRENGTH 1392 > 1402
AGILITY 1856 > 1866
HEALING 998 > 1008
IMMUNE SYSTEM 707 > 717

Here is the Outpost thus far

Probally should start hauling stone from Kem's fortress to build the castle and outer walls soon, but with all the migrants and crap. Oh and one of the late Tadin's men was killed in the gremlin invasion. Other then that it's pretty boring, I'm just building up the apartments so I can give people their own rooms, and spliting up the population for Osmos and Kem then see what it's like to run two fortresses at once.

Edit:
oh and Xenir is a wood cutter, he was one of the starting seven and was more or less just a combat grunt.

As I am testing the paper industry (lots, an lots of bugs. Luckily they can be tinkered with without a re-gen) and now We are underseige by two squads of zombies, 32 total. Some of them are even elite zombies (they eat alot I guess), And with Loud Whispers previous advice I will take the fight to them (going to be hard as they are both together) might lose either everyone or at least most. Will probally comence battle once I finish the last piece of the puzzle... Writing a Text Book

EDIT:
erm... Ok the zombies just made a campfire and now singing kombya my lord...

As I was just finishing up on my testing I noticed this because of a theif (thanks theif, and just like a char in the Harry Potter series)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
this is what I saw

To Arms MEN!

They are inside Don't worry Kara we are coming!

Kara Where are you? Oh look a blood trail leads off the to hospital, must be hers

That solves that problem, pesky zombies.

Now off to finsh the last bunch of sorry rotten flesh sacks

And thats that. We Lost a baby, got some more injuried people....

Wait whats this!?!

Checking the Kill/Death count
We lost 4 people 3 warriors and 1 baby
They lost 11 skeletons and 1 golem

Named Kill Count
Xenir 5 (9) yu now have 50 points to allocate (just imagin it as 5 points lol)
Anderz well well well! 4 kills you have 40 points to allocate (or 4)
Kara nothing special yet.

My test run for my mod is up, and thats the first time I got attacked by the skeletons (usally something in the caves gets me, or the zombies)
This is now up for succession, so everyone come take your turn at trying to build a castle against evil. Note I used runesmith and DFhack. Runesmith is ok for those that want to to the point allocating for named humans. Save

Girlfriend comes over today. Sociology 152 starts tomorrow. Three Kings party on Saturday. Life gets busy. xD

I hope to have one of these soon.
But yes RL is such a hassle, getting in the way of DF lol. I have to try and get to the city that houses my college 2morrow (if the weather and roads bode well)
Which means my mod progress might grind to a halt, and my DF time.

I am kinda curious on how long this castle/underground fortress will last (Also I don't mind if you act dwarfy and work on the underground fort more, as making the castle is kindof a mega-project. A livable aboveground town and castle.)

Once this thing crumbles to the dust I'll probally start a new one with the more advanced and !!FUN!! version of my mod :P

And Change is good :P I'll have to get around to updating the OP Since Kem is dead (got locked in a cage and left to starve) so Basically all is up for grabs but Osmos :)

Journal of Osmos

Uci had imprisoned Kem for a work violation, and had a word with Uci and a few others. Kem had been very distant and hostile towards me, and I believe he was trying to spilt the stronghold apart for his own gain. This had to be stopped, so Kem was locked up and forgotten. He died and nobody has bothered dragging the corpse out of the cage. This Stronghold must become a Castle and I cannot have anyone getting in the way of the King's plan.

OOC:
I don't mind what you do :P you can continue to try and build the Castle or work on the underground Fortress, Or something entirely different. Let's see what we can do before the undead kill us all.

Kara Seena, Hammer Goddess, Entry 2, 14 Limestone -

We appear to be burning bodies. I disapprove of this practice, and it has been stopped. Upon review of the stores, I discovered hundreds of hundreds of seeds. We have a lack of drinks. But we have seeds.  The fortress needs a garden in case of siege, so I ordered a wall constructed around the side of the river. We can dig in some farmland to prevent archers from taking advantage. In the meantime, it must be cleared.

On that note, why are all of the lakes unsafe? I've ordered the miners to channel a hole next to many of the lakes to help people from drowning.
