The Burial-Hole of Angels

This is the tale of The Magical Council, and how they will build a kingdom that will defend the innocent from evil. King Rura Ecodhob of The Confederations of Reputing had seen that the undead and goblins have been growing over-populated, forcing more wars as those fought for survival. The King ordered Osmos the Light Bringer a Demigod which ranked Grand Knight and three lesser knights, two Craftsmen and one Farmer to build a castle that when the day the kingdom is overrun with undead the King could have a new safe haven for him and the people.

And so begins The Burial-Hole of Angels, and The Magical Council.

I am doing a test run of my Mod: Regeneration V4.0 unreleased

With this I am playing as the Humans and their unique castes, I will be having some fun with my Mod trying to exploit the bugs (probally alot).
I will accept human-ing.

here is the form the fill out for Human-ing

Gender: Male/Female
Caste: Female Farmer, Female Crafter, Male Crafter, Male Warrior, Female Warrior, Male Wizard
Profession:
Bio: (this is optional)

Also Stats can be raised by 10 points for each kill your human makes, don't matter if you are a warrior or a simple labourer. And enough kills will allow you to mandate something.

If you are wondering why I left Demigods (Human) out it is because they are very rare, and more of a super unit.

Turn List:
Hugo - Done
Ross Vernal - Current
Kingfisher1112 - Waiting
-
-
-

Current: Save

Humans claimed:
Osmos the Light Bringer (me)
Xenir (Xenir) training with Osmos
Anderz (Ansontan2000) in Seto's Squad
Kara Seena (Ross Vernal) Training by herself with gold morningstar

Now current free humans to be claimed: Humans thus far (70)
Imi Fruitymerged, Female Warrior. Lesser Knight, Quite Durable but Weak, Quick to Tire and gets Sick Easy. Is Ansontan2000's lover
Themsol Bookstockages, Female Craftswoman. Clother. Very Strong, Slow to Tire, Rarely Sick, but Slow to Heal and Very Flimsy.
Ithbi Obeyblankets, Female Farmer. Was a Soldier. Rarely Sick.
Espir Matchedweak, Female Farmer. Was a Soldier. Tough, but Very Quick to Tire, and gets Sick Easy.
Onec Webdimple, Female Craftwoman. Fish Cleaner. Very Slow to Heal.
Bekor Vociefaint, Male Warrior. peasent was an Archer (bow). Rarely Sick, but Flimsy.

Farther info can be given apon request. Now to the game.

Osmos sat on the wagon with his zwei-hander across his lap, he really wasn't male as he was genderless but he felt like he should be a man. The other human's breathing fogged the air from the cold, there was a thick layer of snow on the ground and the wagon left deep tracks in it. I felt we were close to the location that the King had pointed out, putting a hand on the driver to stop the wagon. Standing the idle chatter from the lesser knights stopped, and I spoke "This is where the King wanted us to make a glorious castle. A castle to protect the innocent and helpless from evil, somewhere those being harassed by the Undead or the Goblins can find safety and home. Strike the earth!" Getting down from the wagon I walked towards where Kem was standing, looking off to the distance. "Kem, Me and my Knights are here to insure your and your team's safety."
"Ha! Team you say? It's only me, Gustem, and Dothan. I hardly call that a team, and we have to feed your people and yourself as well as ourselves."
"I can understand your frustration Kem, but it is dangerous out here. This mission is of highest concern."
"If you say so, but I didn't sign-up for this. Better yet I didn't sign-up at all."
"Neither did I, or my Knights. Let's just hope the King sends you more men, me and my knights should be enough protection. Unless the Undead find us."
"Well I bloody well hope they don't."

Journal of Osmos the Light Bringer, 3rd Granite, year 100
I have lived for two-hundred and sixty-five years, first of my kind. After speaking with Kem I ordered Mata and Imi to use their halberts to cut some trees down for Kem and his team. As they did this Kem told Dothan to set up a farm plot and start planting some ratweed, I know that it acts as food but it's also a drug. But he ordered a crop rotation so every season something different will be planted. I saw some capybara roaming in the north-west, they best keep their distance is all I will say.

Consider it done

Journal of Kem, 15th Granite
Not only was I leader of this blasted mission, but now I'm also the broker, manager, and record keeper. I told Gustem to start building a wall around us from the wood Mata and Imi were cutting, I also had Dothan make a few more farm plots. One will be for growing trees, the other for other berries and rope reed. Mata came laughing back from cutting trees to help unload the wagon because it's parked on a frozen pond (stupid Osmos), after he carried a barrel of food Imi shouted "Anderz! I need some help with these trees!" he shouted back "Be there in a sec!" I asked him why she called him Anderz he just smiled and told me it was a childhood nickname. I also found out he is friends with Imi and Osmos, going to have to watch them. Osmos might be a Demigod, but who knows he could have turned to the dark side after all these years. Ha! Why am I even refering to it as a "He"? it's as genderless as my pick.

Curses it appears that some Capybara men are trying to invades us, I took Anderz with me and told Imi and Atek to stay with Kem and his team.

We changed the horrid beasts and I caught one by surpise, stabbing it in the right paw pissed it off and it swung at me. Deftly swinging my zwei-hander and removing it's left leg then it's right paw, left arm, and right hand. It still tried to bite me filled with rage, so I punched its skull in killing it. Anderz is still leaving the camp, he was in such a hurry that his halberd was left behind. I rushed off and killed the rest of the beasts, when I came back Anderz was sleeping by the first beast I killed. Clumsy and Lazy, what has the King sent to fight for me?

I told Kem that there should be a small house built to fit 7 bed, everyone is just sleeping anywhere out here in the snow. I grow weary, I must goto sleep.

A herd of giant capybara roamed too close to our still budding outpost, we were running low on food so I slaughtered them all. Everyone is dragging the parts back to base for Dothan to butcher. Kem and Gustem had finshed our small housing unit for now, it is complete with 7 beds and a basement in which we are now storing our food and booze. All we got is booze until the stream thaws, it is the 3rd of Malachite mid-summer.

Here is the current setup of our outpost

As I went out to help gather the capybara parts, I nearly ran into someone. First I thought it was one of Kem's team but then I saw he wasn't one of ours.
"Oh thank the Gods! We thought you were another destroyed village, we have been traveling for weeks now. And we need a place to stay."
"Hold there, destoryed villages you say?"
"Yes, zombies have been roaming this area in search of flesh to devour. I'm afraid my own family is among them now."
"If that is the case, I Osmos the Light Bringer was sent by the King to build a castle for the protection against evil. You may join us."
"Os... Osmos the Light Bringer!? I.. I didn't think I'd ever meet you, my name is Seto Safewhirls I was a Pikeman before I had to leave my village with what little was left alive."
"Well come, you are safe here. Let us take record of you and your charges."

Seto Safewhirl, Male Warrior pikeman. Very Quick to Heal, Rarely Sick, and Slow to Tire but is Weak. (also he's kindof emotionless)
Themsol Bookstockages, Female Craftswoman. Clother. Very Strong, Slow to Tire, Rarely Sick, but Slow to Heal and Very Flimsy.
Kar Lanterndents, Female Farmer. Highmaster Bonecarver. Tough, but Slow to Heal, and Really Quick to Tire.

Seven more to out numbers. This is starting to look better, But the fact everything is still frozen concerns me. I might have to tell Kem and Gustem to dig to the caves... Only a place fit for a dwarf, not us humans but we need water all this booze is unhealthy. I Gave Seto the commands of milita captain and now has Anderz, Imi, Atek, and Bekor as his force.

OOC:
The Third Migrant wave I'm going to bring some dwarves in, just to make this a little more interesting.

It has been one year, and it seems there is no thaw. As I had feared, we must dig into the earth and find water. Maybe with the stone from the tunneling we can build stronger walls then these wooden ones, I have no idea how the dwarves can brave the danger of the deeps. Must be from all the booze they consume, and my fear is we will die if we must live off booze for another year. Two more of the locals have came here seeking safety from the undead, strange I had thought there would be news of goblins. But if they undead are in a large numbers in the area this does not bode well, I hope Seto can train up the lesser knights and new comers so we have a chance. Hopefully we can begin a forge soon and make some weapons, and assign a quartermaster so that all civilians have some form of weaponry to defend themselves, at least long enough for use to assist.

Outpost thusfar

A Barracks must be built for our warriors, and when the human traders came one of the merchants was a wizard. I asked him about Booze poisoning, he told me that Ratweed helps absorb and nullify the effects of booze. So I ordered special plots to grow Ratweed, and everyone has some at least once a day. Of course Anderz has Ratweed more then three times a day as he puts Dwarven Beer away like water, I fear for his health and his love for strong dwarven booze.

Spoiler: Anderz Description (click to show/hide)

It appears that Anders and Imi have become more then just friends, I had always assumed such. But both are warriors, and a warrior's duty is to live and die in the service of others. I do not feel these emotions that humans feel, I am a simple servant here to protect them and I have done so since the world began. The merchants have come and gone, we traded for shields, metal bars, food, and booze. We have a steady supply of Ratweed so we should be safe, It seems the more mind muddling effects of Ratweed only happen when it is burned and inhaled.

Set up a quarry, I hope to get some stone dug up to build the enterance to the Tunnel. Only something as sturdy as stone can hold back the beasts from the deep.

OOC: Don't know if I can add Dwarves because friendship in Dfusion craps out. I will try once dwarves acaully come but if it craps out even then I'll have to abort the idea. Found quite a few bugs and unfinished features already (one was a reaction, hopefully I fixed it. and the other was graphical and it F**k'd with my mind)

Oh and Ansontan you basically own Imi because she is basically Anderz wife.

Kar Lanterndents, Female Farmer. Highmaster Bonecarver. Tough, but Slow to Heal, and Really Quick to Tire.

...Human me as her. Name her Kara Seena, and make her her own squad, equipped with as much self-made decorated bone and whoever-made preferably-bone-decorated iron armor as possible. Training straight through winter with a preferably-bone-decorated iron dagger and a preferably bone-decorated iron shield.

It's for Zen, not for actual combat, though. As in, only activate her as a last resort.

Will bio after seeing age and personality.

Her Details
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Also if anyone is curious about who they worship I can post all the gods.

And I will try my best to decorate her stuff the best I can, and I can make her own squad or I can jam her into the quartermaster's armed civilain force (squad of 200)

If you like Her weaknesses can be ironed out by killing dangerous animals (2 = 1 notable kill) and notable kills as this gives your human 10 advancement points. And enough notable kills will allow you to mandate something, anything. (just as long as it is resonable and not fortress ending)

And after taking the screenshot I Named her. I Might or might not post a update, but I will say again I will try and get her custom iron armor (so far all I got is cave croc bones and giant and normal capybara bones) If you do want her to kill some critters/baddies so you can ask for her own house and better stuff, I can put her in Seto's squad for training before teh field tests.

I will leave her to self training once I get my hands on a dagger.

Make it a morningstar as she seems to like them. :)

No adventuring until she has decent armor. Leather at the very least with the bone armors. Then, animal kill control!

On her own. If anyone else likes morningstars or uses them, then squad them with her, please.

I modded gold and lead so weapons can be made from them (this is in the full mod now) she is making her own bone armor and someone is making leather stuff to help protect her more, she will self train/beat innocent animals to death for training (these kills don't count for anything, only something deadly like a croc/troll/etc count) and a gold Morning star is being made for her. (one of my two gold bars I traded for) Soon she will make this  budding kingdom proud. I'll do a full update 2morrow after I have rested.

EDIT:
Kara Seena has had her first blood (and I don't mean the monthly) it was a random duck that wandered too close to the walls. Gold Morningstars are brutal
she also seems to be suited for war, her two gods are both take the form of male human warriors, one is peace the other creation. So I guess she wants to create peace through violence. Of course this is just what I think :P Her bio is all up to you Ross.

Other than that, I think I'll keep my personal info to myself.

I gave you Atek here is his details:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I ordered two Training swords made, he will be in the same squad as Osmos (Expert Swordsman) so you can get trained up fast. But I need to get some decent fighting metal to make you a good blade (nice longsword) which might be soon traders have come.

1st of Sandstone.

As I was walking to see how much granite Kem and Gustem had dug up for the construction of the tunnel enterance, I over heard Seto talking with Anderz about Kar seems she has started going by the name of Kara Seena. Why I do not know before I could say a word to Kem about the stone Atek interupted me before my lips formed anything "Osmos I want to be a great knight like you, I know I'm only a lesser knight but now that we have more lives to protect. Well I just don't want to let anyone die."
"This is a noble cause Atek."
"Xenir, call me Xenir."
"Xenir? I am curious, why do you wish to be called another name?"
"My own personal reasons... I just do, Xenir sounds more heroic then Atek."
"Very well Xenir, I will have Kem set up some training swords. As well forge a steel longsword."
"Thank you, I won't let you down"

Xenir ran off to Seto, probally to tell him he will be under my charge until he is done his training. Why is everyone changing their names? My name was changed apon the King's request, a noble reason. Never mind "Kem!"
"What?"
"How goes the granite?"
"'Ight I guess, not much to it. Only problem is the shovels break or the carts."
"Shovels? You are digging stone."
"No. We are digging dirt to find the stone, we then cart it out of the quarry for our use."
"Interesting, also have two training swords made up. And a Steel Longsword, maybe some armor too."
"Very well Osmos."
"Good"

three weeks later

"Ah Kem you finally got those training swords done, how's the sword and armor coming."
"They are coming."
"Ah, good Xenir! Here take this." throwing the pine sword at him he caught it deftly "Meet me by the fields.

Standing at the narrow ledge that is between the two fields I readied the training sword "Come, attack me as you would with a goblin."

I charged at Osmos swinging, he deftly stepped aside and slashed at me. I jumped and found that there was no ground and fell to the field, getting covered in  mud "Come now, you fight like a green." climbing back up I swung again only for Osmos to jump away, he attacked and I dodged it and countered slapping his left gauntlet with the flat of the blade "HA!" only to get smacked in the face with his sword sending me into the fields again. "Don't be proud of a glancing blow, be proud when the foe is dead and there are no more to fight." charging Osmos and slashing which he moved again but I expected this and tackled him taking him down, swinging again he rolled away and whacked me in the shin. I quickly turned and swoung without looking and hit his two hander stuck in the ground, Osmos quickly smacked my arm making me drop my sword "You are dead, look before you strike and know your surroundings. You never know when the enviroment can get in your way, but it can also help you too. Pick up your sword, there is still lots of light."

EDIT:

A Wizard and his company arrived, his lab had been invaded by zombies. I had asked him how they got in, he said that he let them in. But that they won't be walking out, with a huge grin on his face. He then said that acid was a wonderful thing, and then walked into the small housing unit for a meal. After that half of the tunnel was built, when Gustem and Dothan walked to the archway and annonced they were eloping. Hope they have many strong children.

Seems I had Tempeture and Invaders off in my d_init.txt I was wondering why there was no Thaw and no threats. Had a interesting run in with a kobold tho :P

6th of Malachite, second year (102)
Journal of Kem

It seems everything finally thawed out and now we can drink water, just in time too the booze had finally run out. Osmos has been training Xenir and now he is a skilled swordsman, he will probally defend us better then Osmos he has become obsessed with booze he just can't get through the day without it. Well Osmos will just have to deal, I will not have this place corrupted by drugs and alcohol. I may not ave signed up to lead this place, but I will not have over 50 people die because they died of alcohol poison, or Ratween overdose, or failure to assist a endangered citizen due to influences. Gustem, Dothan, and I will put a stop to this madness. I heard another Demigod has come here, its lord had been killed as it was trying to defend the lord's civlians. That means I might be able to get rid of Osmos and still have this place defended from the undead, and goblins.

"HELP!"
scrambling from my journal I ran outside to see a kobold terrorizing everyone, and Seto's squad was rushing to end it. Only it fell with an arrow between its eyes, and Bekor doing a little dance and shouting "HEAD SHOT!" I say I'm impressed, maybe Osmos is not needed anymore. But arming our soldiers is next to impossible as there is no ore anywhere, only gold, gold and bismuth. With the tunnel complete, I suggested to Gustem that we and any others that wish to join us. Can build a underground fortress away from Osmos, our own little safe haven from the evil of the surface.

Some mutant bird elk thing came out of the tunnel into the outpost, Kara chased it back down and beat it to death with that gold morningstar of hers. Then Dothan gave birth to a baby boy, he has the look of a wizard about him. Take that Osmos you freak of nature, we will have our own working army. And no more will we have to suffer the woes of the Surface, We will best the dwarves at their own earthy living style.

OOC:
I just cant stand not being a little dwarfy :P I'm going to split some of the population to support a cave fortress with magma, and !!crundles!!

IC:
Traders have come and some giant olm thing tried too attack from the tunnel, Seto finished it off. He now has four kills, a kobold, dark gnome, cave croc, and this giant olm. I have spoke with Seto in private, and he says he and his squad is with me. I asked what about Anderz and Imi, he told me they are in love and they are not Osmos's lot anymore, they are his. Very well I'll ask the other captains if they will join us in the tunnels, the cavern. A great help would be Xenir but he is attached to Osmos, but I managed to get Heskarl. It used to be only an Adept Knight now it is my knight, and with Dothan's child we almost have a full set.

After another attack of theives, I spoke with Tadin and he will join us. That will be 20 soldiers for our exodus to the underground, We must wait for the dwarves so we can trade for some of the underground plants. Of course we could simply gather them, but I like to be prepared. I could probally have Osmos killed, but I would rather not have human blood spilled even if that means letting that abomnation live. Now Heskarl, that's a tool. It was just looking for a master, Osmos is free thinking these things shouldn't think they should obey without thought.

I have drawn these plans for my fortress

This is the outpost thus far

The river is also getting water gates installed while it is still frozen. This should allow us to claim things that fall into the river by draining/damming it.

EDIT:
Curses the undead have found us! I must call my men from the caverns, but as they rallied for the surface GREMILINS! My men effortlessly slaughtered them, their mace gremlin and spear gremlin fled as their blowgunners where cut down.

Now that they are out of the way. What to do about the undead?

OOC:
What should I do? Attack the super zombies? Try to build a archer post to snipe them? Lock the front gate and pray?
