Great news! I've dragged this old computer out of my basement and did a fresh install of windows, so hopefully that will be up and running by tonight (installing now).

EDIT:

SUCCESS!

Nice job. My laptops transformer was shooting out sparks and crackling last night (also smoking). Since this is not normal operating status for such a device...I think I'll retire that bit and get a new one thus I'm gonna be without a computer once I lose battery power...and unable to watch the awesomeness here. :(

In terms of the frozen-river defence problem:

I'm sill new to DF, and so suck at the whole gratuitously cruel defense systems....but why not build a floodbank next to the river (out of whatever is cheap and available, or easily bought)...or a levee or river-wall or whatever. Then run a bridge across from there, routng all traffic via the bank?

Well, I haven't had a reply from JamCat yet, so I guess you can take your turn after all.

Hey, got linked to here from http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=98604.0 and, if you are still taking dorfs, would like to request dorfing. Preferably as one who "takes pleasure in slaughter".

Same here. This fort has such potential for insanity.

Broseph Stalin cancels surf: Consumed by rage!

You based a succession off of my Broseph Stalins Glorious Super Awesome End All Be All Lord of All Things it Surveys Dwarf Village Challenge without inviting me!?  I demand a turn! Or I beg for a turn, whichever one of those things is going to work is what I'm doing.

I don't think Jamcat remembers he is supposed to be doing this, let's move on to the next guy and give Broseph Stalin (whose suggestion did start the thread) a spot.

It wasn't JamCat. Belik said that he was starting.
