Having some trouble with the save. Could you repack and reupload it somewhere else?

I'm uploading it to mediafire now. What exactly was wrong with the save?

Wunderbar!

I will begin my term later today. If all goes well, iSSH should be working with dfterm2, meaning that I will be able to play DF remotely on my iPad. Exciting!

Anyways, with every update, I'll let everyone know who got dorfed so that utilitarian can update the dorf list. Just post as usual.

How do you play df on an ipad?

It works on iPhone/iPod Touch s far as I am aware, as well as on iPad. Download a app called iSSH (the others do not work) and download dfterm2 on your computer.

Sorry that I wasn't able to begin my turn today because of Christmas and the mix up with the save file. I will begin it tomorrow.

Don't worry about it.  8)

Especially as the latter was my fault.

Wow thanks for the input on wireless df guys. Question for my future turn--is it ok if I arm everyone with crossbows?  I think of it more as the family rifle kept for protection and scaring off varmints  [as well as a way to maintain a functional military without a functional military]

Ha! I was actually thinking of the same thing. That's a great idea. Good use for bone, too.

Alright, Windows Vista is being stupid again.

Every time I try to extract the files, it tells me that there is already a file with the same name at that location and doesn't give me an option to overwrite. This happens no matter what directory I put the .zip into. It tells me the file is called region1 and is zero bytes.

I am able to extract files from other sources. Try packing it differently or packing it as a .rar or .7z.

Hopefully I will get my good (not Vista) computer fixed today and it won't be an issue.

Unfortunately, I am a computer n00b, (the problem is likely exacerbated due to my macintosh use, and the dearth of tools available for said platform) and do not know how to compress files into .rar or .7z. Want to give me a few pointers?

Dorf me up! Is Mosus still up for grabs? I like the idea of a meat-hacking bone doctor going to work on his patients.  Its very dwarfy. Reminds me a bit of Sweeny Todd.. we could even give him the same name!  Don't sign me up for a turn yet, though. I might have a go if I start getting ideas for where it should go, but right now I want to watch and wait.

Also an idea.. if every dwarf gets their own basement stockpile, what about limiting parts of those stockpiles to the items they specifically enjoy in their character bios?  Sweeny can get a place to put some nice crutches, a stack for cloth, and maybe his own little booze pile just for his favorite type of wine.  Thoughts?

Finally, what are these dwarves going to do about metal? Import or go without? A well-dug trench and catapult system could fend off the first attack but I don't like their chances if they go completely agricultural.  Battle axes were made for a reason, you know.

I downloaded the most recent save you uploaded and it worked fine for me.  I use PeaZip.. it works great with .rar and .zip and anything else.  And unlike WinRar, it doesn't bug you with that 'buy now' message.

Yeah, I have been working with the default Windows unzip tool and Winrar for .rar files.
