Steyr Mannlicher original gun hard case from my lovely wife,
Barnett Black Widow slingshot from one of my buddies,
Pantac Maritime Ciras with a ton of molle pouches, (and Evafoam instead of SAPIs, yay) from another friend; which was both awesome and unexpected...
And a few other doodads like a survival blanket, a credit-card survival tool and so on.

It's good to have friends  :D

Huh. I actually didn't get socks this year. Most years I get one or two pair of really good hiking socks (hiking socks are best socks). But this year I got like three pair for my birfday (which was just two months ago), so it's all good.

I *did* get:
Footy pajamas (yes, the one-piece pajamas with feet in them like kids wear...these even have the button flap in the back) xD
$25 Amazon gift card
$25 HP gift card (for buying TouchPad accessories)
assorted caramel santas, peanut butter chocolate Christmas tree, and Heath bars
A handheld vacuum cleaner
couple of pairs of jeans
a new Christmas tree ornament

I usually get a can of black olives for Christmas too, but my mother-in-law forgot them this year. Also ate myself silly Christmas Day and yesterday: turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes with enough butter in them that there are great yellow pools on the surface, green bean casserole, and bourbon mashed sweet potatoes with pecans.

And I got to watch the kids go totally apeshit over the gifts they got. Although in classic fashion, my son's favorite gift was the broken Nokia cellphone that my wife let him play with. I'm telling ya...small children do not need gifts purchased for them. They're happier playing with junk drawer items and empty boxes.  :P

Oh, tell me about it. I was spoiled rotten as a child, I had heaps of toys, but I still remember when dad gave me a box of electrical fuses. I had so much fun with them!
The European old fuses looked like a ceramic bottle, or a ceramic Hazmat barrel. Or a ceramic Nuke! or...or.... wheee! ... And they had this fine sand inside that you could spread allover mom's expensive carpets and get into so much FUN!
Jawesome!

Boxes for large appliances like fridges or washing machines are the best gift ever. You can make such awesome forts with them.

carton boxes.
those were the real deal for kids.

this year no gifts. i had to auto gift myself, and everyone around.
my mother was pleasantly surprised of receiving the last book of george r martin, my grandmother got extra cacao dark chocolate 99% of cacao. in both sweet and extra dark flavors.
My brother got a series of insults for the "christmas is when you are the most good to others", because otherwise, it would have been a blood bath.
I did give him his gift metro2033 through steam though.
it was the day before the blood bath.
saddening.

I unwrapped a huge pile of cash which i immediately funneled into my steam wallet.
That is, after grabbing gifts for my family and closest friends, and a few internet friends too.

Oh yeah. My daughter had a pair of office chair box "houses" to play in. She's destroyed one, but the other is still in her room, along with a big cardboard "castle" that we have yet to put together.

We got the kids some good stuff this year. Lots of books (including a fair bit more Dr. Seuss -- more obscure ones like Scrambled Eggs Super and I Can See With My Eyes Shut!), this giant rubber dog thing that they can sit on and bounce, and a Giga Ball (which made me instantly jealous of my children on a level I did not know possible)

Do they make those in adult size?

They do. They are expensive, though. Really fun, mind you.

If you want something a bit cheaper and more temporary, there's Zorb places all over that will roll you down a hill in a big one.

Yeah, they make an 84" inch one, but almost every review you read says that the seams blow out in no time, and then you're pretty much screwed. The 51" inch model is apparently a bit more durable. I'm waiting for somebody to come along and make an improved design that holds up better. Cause I'm almost tempted to try and cram my body into the 51" model. xD

EDIT: I want one that can handle sand, so I can take it to Kill Devil Hills (where the Wright Brothers flew their airplane).

I'm getting a PS3 with Disgaea 4+Demon Souls.
Niiiiiiiice.

I was also talked into browsing Facebook, by my grandmother of all people.
I swear I've talked to my grandmother more on Facebook than anyone else.  She's a really nice lady.

Socks and a few books. We don't really go present-mad like USA. The best thing was a nice dinner and time spent with family, though, and epic roast potatoes.

I've had three family dinners in a row.  This is what happens when your family has three main branches.

Inability to go anywhere.

Ha! We're planning similar. One on the 29th, and another on the 2nd. And I didn't even visit one whole side of the family.
