So.. what do you think of the weather?

Well since I live in England Mordor, the weather's lovely!

Only had one thunderstorm this week :P

Fact that I just pulled out my ass: the reason they're called "thunderstorms" in the English Language is because England has too much fog to see lightning.

...That and a storm is only called a thunderstorm when lightning is present.

'Cos lightning always means you'll find thunder, but not always the other way around...

Yeah...

Yeah...

What I mean is that they're called thunderstorms because thunder is all that is perceivable; the only time you're ever going to see lightning is if you're struck by it!

Au contraire...

We get quite a bit of this in the summer.

Depends on the store you go to.

The one in my town cooks the chicken to perfection each time, and is connected to an A&W for delicious root beer from the tap.

The one in the next town over is horrible and I never go there.

The last time I ate at an A&W/KFC, I threw up violently :(
I only eat my Virginian grandfather's fried chicken anyway.

Penguin is in Kentucky, where they have more Kentucky Fried Chicken places than just Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Except they just call it Fried Chicken.

Wait, you guys don't call it that? Also they don't have other fried chicken places? What the hell.

Is joke.

“Well, looks like we got ourselves a Mexican standoff.”

“Actually, senor, down here, we just call it a standoff.”

I would have it known that I have never actually deigned to see Delta Farce. I just happened to see the trailer on television.

How do you guys feel about the Categorical Imperative?  I feel that it asymptotically approaches being a 'workable' philosophy in the abstract, given that in general one should abide by its tenets, but it is simply too rigid to account for the infinite amount of variables that occur in any given real world scenario.  Further, it is simply a recipe for providing a view of what is justified in any given situation rather than a path towards the most beneficial outcome.  I've not really thought as hard on this subject as some of you guys have, but while it's commendable to seek out a quick, cut and dried solution for an ethical life, such answers aren't easy enough to fit on a notecard.

It seems that, for all that we need in our situation, as a species, the categorical imperative works well enough; basically, I concur with your statement.
