Alright, so i have 140 dwarfs in my fort right now. About 80 of them are good for nothings that immigrated in with their master skills in animal training, soap making, etc. I tried making a burrow in a hollowed out shaft that i rigged with a floodgate lava system.

I picked the 80 dwarfs specifically out of the other 60 useful dwarfs (speciff dwarfs to this burrow) to go and stand in the happy zone, yet every dwarf goes there when i sound the alert. Am i doing it wrong?

I just want to kill the useless dwarfs without having to build 80 levers and assigning each to a specific dwarf.

Yes. Don't sound an alert. that makes every dwarf go there. Instead pick those dwarves to go there, maybe make another burrow to keep the other dwarves separate, and they'll go where you assign.

Also, please post on how the resultant ghosts effect your fps

Alsoalso, I always tried to get rid of immigrants by danger-rooming them without armor. Any survivors of the ordeal come out great warriors with many scars.

Alsoalsoalso, It might be interesting to see how the tantrum spiral sure to come goes.

not done more than danger rooms and isolation chambers for tantrum control myself, but I think alerts are counterproductive. just defining, and assigning the burrow should send the dwarfs to the target area. but, have your memorial park set for expansion.

Im prepared for the resulting fun, my idea was to cull my populaion down to 30-40 individuals. Hopefully this sends a message to further immigrations that "Facewound" is closed.

I have an entire z level all fashioned out for the resulting ghosts, i think the massive drop in hobos however would be good for my fps.

Burrow them all on top of a spire. They will begin fighting.

And falling.

Corpses remain to allow burial.

Fighting done over magma pipe/volcano optional.

Fun thing is, the last few will normally be either berserk, have killed themselves or be ecstatic :O

I like to put the ecstatic Jedi sociopaths in the child-chute. They make the best babysitters.

I like to put the ecstatic Jedi sociopaths in the child-chute. They make the best babysitters.

Make sure they're cave adapted first so they vomit everywhere.

Build a bunch of tiny cells, or one big cell.
Make it a Burrow.
Burrow the opted Dwarves inside.
Lock them in.

Forget they exist.
Done :)

Optionally, punish them in the most vile, horrific way You can punish a Dwarf.
Lock them OUTSIDE!!!

Locking them outside implies a chance of survival though. And it doesn't train Jedi Dwarfs.

And that is unacceptable.
