The time is 2000 years in the future, mankind has spread across the stars, terraforming planets as it expands. The Human empire has crumbled, and fractured into many independent stellar kingdoms. However, four of these star kingdoms have arisen, Antares, Regulus, Algol and Pavus, to unite the human race once again, and rule. You are the supreme admiral of the Fleet, and it is your job, via diplomacy, subterfuge and strategy, to conquer the quadrant.

So, after that wonderful wall of text, I'm looking for two to four players. Each player starts with fifteen ships at their home star. A turn consists of a PM to me containing your commands regarding each warp bubble. Claiming a spot involves choosing one of the four Home Stars I mentioned in the Opening Text and a color from Orange, Blue, Pink and Green.

Feel free to point out any confusing/grammar/other mistakes in this, It's currently 1am for me :)

This sounds lovely! I haven't tried playing a board game via message board before, but I think I'll have a go.

I shall claim Algol for the Illuminated Societies.

We will re-forge the great and bountiful human empire, for the greater good of all.

As a request, though, could we perhaps do something about the yellow stars on the map? There isn't really enough contrast between the yellow background and the text, and it's very difficult to read. Not impossible, mind you, but I'd be happier if one could see the available resources at a glance instead of needing to squint. Maybe use black text instead, as a suggestion?

I would like to Claim AntareS for the Conglomerate.

Edit: I don't actually see if any of the stars are the "home stars" so I assumed that we just picked one. If that is not the case then I will change mine.

They're not marked on the map, but they're listed in that first paragraph. Took me a bit to figure it out, too.

Yes, I'll get on that.  Done, Ok now?

Edit: I don't actually see if any of the stars are the "home stars" so I assumed that we just picked one. If that is not the case then I will change mine.
The home stars are the four I mentioned in the opening Text, should've made that more clear. So Elfeater, you'll have to have Regulus cos that's the only one left.

Oh yes, and in the case of a draw in combat, both fleets are destroyed and the star reverts to bieng unowned, I'll add that into the OP. And it looks like we've got everyone, so I'll start this up shortly.

Alright, just to check we have:
Time Blossom leading the Illuminated Societies from their Homeworld of Algol as the colour Blue
Criptfeind leading the Conglomerate from Antares as the colour Orange
Bdthemag leading the Democratic Republic of United Minds from Pavus as Green
And Elfeater leading the United Space Socialist Republic from Regulus as Red

Turn 1

As one, the four Star kingdoms looked beyond their system's boundaries and into the depths of space. They knew what they had to do, uniting the quadrant would be difficult, but once more having the entire human race under one banner would lead to a new golden age of expansion, into the rest of the galaxy.

The Illuminated Societies, having enlightened the last rebels in the system prepared for the great crusade needed to show the light to the rest of humanity.

The Conglomerate, having consumed the last rogue states turned to the rest of mankind. All will be united in it's purpose.

The Democratic Republic of United Minds had elected a new leader, who was, even now, instilling the system with the vigor and might needed to show the rest of the quadrant the power of democracy.

The United Space Socialist Republic had liberated the last human in the system of Regulus, colloquially known as New Sol, from the tyranny of hierarchical government. Now only the rest of the quadrant needed to see the truth.

Spoiler: The Conglomerate (click to show/hide)

The game commences!! Please submit your warp bubble commands by PM, and feel free to chat/threaten/negotiate with one another. Since turns need fairly little effort from anybody, they should go fairly quickly :)

Can we make a ship at a star in the same turn our last ship leaves?

People have asked a few questions, which I'll address now:

A ship is completed at the end of each turn, to be available at the beginning of the next one. Hence you will have one new ship each next turn. This is automatically done, and the ships will be created at your home star unless you specify somewhere else.

When you send out Warp Bubbles, all you have to tell me is how many ships are leaving, and where from. A single point in Hyperspace, being non-deterministic in nature, can be tied to multiple points in this dimension dependent on where you entered. So long as the ships you want to exit hyperspace have traveled for long enough, they can appear in any of multiple locations. This allows a fleet to change course midway and appear to arrive at their destination as if they'd been aiming there all along.

And as you can only create one warp bubble a turn, you can therefore only send out one fleet per turn. You can of course have multiple fleets traveling at a time.

I think that should clear things up.

Due to a large workload, Bdthemag has realsied that he can't be in yet another forum game. Thus I need a new player.

To the remaining three, I give you opinions, should I continue with turns until someone joins  in or shall I pause them until we gen a new player?
