I don't mind being pure support. I never played the game this is based off of, read the god description, saw 'tricks and handiness' and assumed the construction and use of traps would play a major role along the instrument. I signed up to be a support character, I just didn't think supporting would be so one dimensional. As long as I have many support options, and not just 'play instrument', I wont get bored.

Thats the point :-0! I want to give you a way to multitask, not just stand there and thrum your instrument. I'm thinking of a skill that lets your lute autoplay on the floor, given that you actually know the song, and let you do something else. Hmmmm.....

Sonic attacks?
Debuff music?
Let him play one of several songs from memory, each with different effects?

I've been drawing my character, and I'm slowly trying to change the robes so that Sephiroth doesn't sue me for stealing his outfit. There'll be a pattern on the robe eventually, but does anyone have suggestions on what I should add?

EDIT: If your looking for a way to be a deadly bard, something like the musicians from Kung Fu Hustle. Tossing thin blades as you play is kind of badass.

Any chance the bank/general store is open? I have some things to buy before the end of the night.

So I've just started reading through this and it's pretty okay so far!

But I have a semi related question about the actual game, which is is there a bay12 guild active in mabinogi? Because the game is pretty okay up until I get to ranged attackers/multi-aggro and everything just falls apart for me. And I feel like partying up would help quite a bit.

I'm off to read more of this now.

Personally, I don't know, because I played on the Korean server.

Ranged attackers and multi-aggro can be cleared with Windmill and Charge. The best is using fully upgraded Broad Swords (222b or something) and mowing everything down.

If we do have a forum guild, I doubt it sees much use, if it even is used. But yeah, windmill and charge are your friends for mobbing and ranged attackers.

Oh hey charge is out in the US version now, how bout that. It's been a while.

And I see. Maybe I'll make a mabinogi thread in other games later and see if there's any interest. Keep an eye out for that if you're interested I guess.

I'll let you all get back to this game now. Thanks for the info again! :P

Option number one for dealing with ranged enemies is to use magic. Firebolt, for example.
There's also charge, and defend (in some situations), and even the Evasion skill now (which is where you roll around on the ground, which apparently works).
Or just take up ranged combat yourself and pray to Morrighan that you're better at it than your enemies.
Of course, if you've got friends around it devolves into "hit attack until you win, because you will".

I'm curious. If I'm not supposed to be good or evil, then what will my transformation be?

The Paladin/Dark Knight transformations. Paladin = good, dark knight = evil. I'm supposed to be neutral, so I can't technically become either.

Ah :P Who knows... :3

Nemian does have a half-god transformation, IIRC.
