Is there anything that restricts the usage of our skills?
Or put blandly, is there any reason that I shouldn't powerslam into anything that looks at me funny?

Powerslam is useful, grants temporary invulnerability against ranged attacks, uses little stamina and is weak 

Smash is useless against a prepared foe, but is at least 2 times stronger than a regular attack.

I think you misunderstood what I meant with my attack.  meant for him to do a circle in one swing first hitting with the side of the shaft, and continuing on after that spinning it around, so the blade hits them. Basically a whirlwind , but only straightforward, and back

Well, I did that, but first poked the spider with the shaft XD

You =  Shaft to the left, blade to the right
Me = Poke with shaft, shaft to the left, blade to the right

You get an extra attack on a 2 hit weapon that has a unheard of critical rate (and it delivered), you give flinch damage and you raise your combat mastery skill :3

Also, it looks cool to do a 3 combo, and you get to insult the spider...

I like how I was shuffled to the back of the room even though I was the first into the room. How long do we have between posts and updates? I keep missing parts of the battle because I'm doing something else at the time.

Actually, I'm the one who picked up the key and unlocked the "door." So technically, I'd be the first to have entered.

I usually update when three people post. Don't worry about dying though; no moster attacks someone without an action.

About the room entrance... I know I'm not following one of the tips in the Dungeonmaster's Guide (establish marching order), but here its not important, as you don't actually have movement restrictions.

Still, I'm sorry for shuffling you tothe back  T.T
