Enelavaci, the classy mule
« on: December 22, 2011, 05:18:43 am »

This is from a fortress I've reclaimed a few times. This guy appeared after the first reclaim, and was one of the original pack animals. Not only is he named, but he is wearing a full set of clothes.

Has this happened to anyone else?

His elegant garb is an affectation to mourn the downfall of Tragedy Mule.

That's one of the most epic things i have seen in DF.
You, sir, are lucky.

It's kinda natural really : you've abandoned it and it learned to take care of himself.
He named himself Enelavaci and trained himself with armor so he can protect the fortress. :D

SO, I tried to flood it from a brook.

Now he can lurk in the dark and abandoned corridors of your fortress, keeping silent but vigilant watch over your dwarves, protecting them against the countless enemies that seek their destruction. For he is...Muleman!

I don't know which is more epic; that the mule is wearing any clothes at all, or its particular choices of tailored clothing.  That is one flamboyant pack-animal.

Wow, you need to check the Legends, maybe you could find more useful info.

I have a horse in one world who has a name after he kill my adventurer by a kick in the head.

It's a pity that animals don't have hair styling in. He needs an elegantly coiffured mane.

He was protecting the fortress so the next dwarven settlers wouldn't have any trouble reclaiming the settlement.

I didn't think it was possible for stray animals to stay behind when a fort is taken over or abandoned. Must be due to the fact that he is a notable historical figure (not much unlike insane dwarves) with a killcount. That's good to know.

I'm betting he killed a goblin or two while your fort was going down.

Too bad he didn't wear shorts with socks and sandals.  My dad always thought that was a great combo.... urgh.

But I did get a kick out of visualizing the mule wearing socks with the ensemble.
