First encounter with [spoilers] and a super child (contains spoilers)

Here's my first encounter with adamantine:
So, I was digging down past the caverns when I found adamantine, first time ever for me. I order some miners to get closer so I can mine around the adamantine, when suddenly one dwarf mines out a section of it. Of course s*** tons of demons start rushing up the tube at me, fly past all my efforts at containing them with walls, and start lots of fun in my fortress.

This is usual, but while watching my one untrained and unarmed squad die by a salt demon, a kid runs up behind the demon, punches him, and kills him. Just like that. Well that's great, I wonder if he can do that again, 20 times...

Yay fun! :D

Yes, and now I've managed to trap about 10-20 demons in a small area, and the other 80-some are wondering around outside, killing anything that moves. Dwarves are freaking out everywhere too. I'm going for the adamantium!

So far my dwarves seem content with living out the rest of their days locked in the fortress. My engravers are even making nice pictures of clouds on the walls and floors, not a single trace of the idea of tons of demons pouring out of the earth burning and maiming everyone and everything. Looks like my pep talks on "How to survive locked up inside a fortress with no hope" really paid off. :)

Admantine swords produced, working on armor and maybe some more weapons soon, maybe I'll go check out those eerie glowing pits? I'm sure they're safe.

I unearthed the HSF, the demons killed my miner, yet to my suprise the fort remained untouched. It seems that the demons are busy fighting a magma crab. The  crab has 8 kills to its name so far.

The Hidden Stuff - Fluffer?

That said, the kid just got lucky. The demons really are dangerous, they just go down like chumps because they're made of salt.
...Mind you, this doesn't make the kid any less awesome, since he still had to be fast enough to punch out a demon before it got a hit in.

Reminds me of the time I built a special dungeon under my fortress with several chained goats leading to special containment rooms to trap demons comming from below. Then I would send troops down there to try and fight the demons in a more controlled manner. Turns out it wasn't the axedwarves who killed most demons, just one crazy herculean miner with an iron pick.
