Leave Note in alleyway. "Suits are expensive, and the paladins already know you as a potential foe, suit or no suit. On second thought I'll leave you out of that part of the plan. Instead I want you to find a secure spot, somewhere just outside of town perhaps, where you can interrogate a Paladin once I catch us one. If you can locate a good dungeon to clear, that would also be good. We may need more funds for this."

Donitz heads to the tavern, waiting to see if anybody would show up to conspire with him.

Ignore the fact that you're tired, and find the stables. If there are no stables just start walking.

Said stables were just outside of the stockade.
"Hullo, another adventurer? Then a horse is one hundred th-"
"No, sir, I am a mere archaeologist."
"Ah, then the prices change! Take a horse for a deposit of 30000 gold! 100% guaranteed return if the horse is brought back alive! Dem adventurers, always managing to bust up a horse..."

Zario gave said deposit. He borrowed a brown horse with a black mane.

In the tavern, Donitz waited, sipping some milk. As time passed, a trickle of vaguely familiar faces came in, paid for various drinks, and sat down around Donitz. They seemed mostly to be guards. They were all in their off-duty cloths.

"Kid, are there any dungeons around here?"

Lylis, it's Lylis! I'm going to call you meanie and not answer anything until you call my name.
Okay... Lylis. Are there any dungeons around here?
North east, Mas Dungeon. Lower clearances are mostly kobolds, with human... kobold wave tactics. Very long, with three hellhounds or one Cerberus as a boss, if you are unlucky. Higher clearances are brutal, with skeletal hellhounds, kobolds, fire/ice sprites, trolls. Boss is a bard-classed metallic skeleton and a giant skeletal hellhound.

North west, Rabi Dungeon. Lower clearances are normal, red, and metallic skeletons. Shorter, more painful, and with a boss of either Succubi or golden kobold archer squad. Higher clearances are also skeletons. Regular, giant, suicide bombers. Skeletal imps, skeletal ragodesa. Boss is Succubi.
Her face blanked out, as she recited from memory what the alchemists had obtained from their secret research.

There, what else do you want to know? She asked with mild annoyance.

Donitz lets the guards finish their drinks before leading them to a private room, dark alleyway, or somewhere else a bit less public.

"Now then. We have reason to believe these Paladins are up to something fishy. We need to find out if that is the case. I have a plan to catch one or two off guard and bring them in for questioning."

The bard produces his lute and plays a few soft notes as he talks. "I thought to myself, what kind of situation could catch a person off guard? The obious answer would be a party. However a Paladin, or somebody pretending to be one, might be a bit too prudeish to attend just any party. We need an event so pure and lilly white even a Paladin could attend!"

Donitz strums the first few bars of 'here comes the bride'. "I want to throw a wedding! And kidnap one of the Paladin's during the festivities!"

Looking each guard in the eye Donitz drops his voice to a near whisper. "You guys know this town far better than I. What I would like of you is to work out the details. We need a bride, a groom, a venue that preferably sits near the city gates, wedding supplies, and a cart or carts to hopefully smuggle an unconcious Paladin out of town."

Donitz puts a gold piece on the table and spins it, picking up the tempo of his tune to match the rate of rotation. "If you can't find a young couple that is already engaged, see if you can find some kids who hate the Paladins and would be willing to enter into an arranged or faked marriage for our purposes. Worst comes to worst I can be the groom. Once you guys figure out how much this is going to cost, let me know. Feel free to include a fee for your services in that figure. My accomplice and I will run through some dungeons to raise the coin."

Donitz hands each of the guards 1200 gold. "Use this to make people talk, or to shut people up as need be. If you don't need it, feel free to consider it as part of your pay. There is an alleyway just across the street where you can leave me messages, and I will likely stop by the school often if you want to arrange a meeting with me. Any questions?"

((So that's what the weddings were for. Paladin traps. :P))

"I don't know how an adventurer could bust up a horse. I'll get this one back to you in a few days." Zario thought about it for a second. He was taking a horse to monster village... Well there goes the deposit. With a pull of the reigns he walked the black maned horse out of the stables. With a quick flick of the reigns he dashed out of the camp blowing his crimson hair back as the horse sped to a gallop leaving the tents in his wake of dust.

He rode outward using the map as reference every so often.

Long actions

One guard raised his hand.
"Sir bard, there is one tiny flaw with your plan ... weddings are always conducted in Emain Maha. There is no place to hold a wedding in Dunbarten."

He rode outward using the map as reference every so often.

His horse cantered for three hours, then slowed down to a trot. It was a good thing his archaeologist's folder had a compass; otherwise he would have been lost. The endless green plain was as monotonous as it was large. He stopped for a midday meal, then set off again. The sun traversed across the sky, and soon it became dark. He camped, tying his horse to a conveniently located tree, and went to sleep.

He was waken by the hostile, guttural tones of something speaking to him, Get up, human..

>Visit blacksmith.

Instead of an actual smith, this town had a weapons store. The owner was a woman with short, red hair. She was crossing her arms, when Griph came.

"Hey there. What did you come for?"

"Grudges? Why would I have grudges? If I did have one, it would be that they never use my weapon shop!" She let out a single laugh, and started polishing a dagger.

"That's convenient. Someone came and found me." Zario looked up at the hostile voice and stood up. He kept his hands away from his blades, knowing that the person was most likely not human. This might prove to be in his favor, assuming he could reason with them.

Donitz blinks, unphased. "Right then. You passed that test. Good to know the guards here don't buy into the expensive, overly complicated, and impossible."

He lowers his voice again. "The real plan is much more simple. We throw a regular old party, somewhere near the town gates. Somebody will tip off the Paladins that we have drugs, whores, or other contraband. And we jump them when they show up. We will still need some time though. My accomplice still needs a place out of town where we can have all the time we need to interrogate the Paladin."

"Use the money I gave you to buy masks for the party and keep the rest. In case something goes wrong we don't want them figuring out that the guards are plotting against them. Anybody have a venue in mind? I'm going to want to set up traps, just in case we get a few more Paladins than we reckoned on."

"If you think I'm working for them, then I can assure you that I'm not. But if it's an honest mistake on my part, just try to keep an eye out when you close shop."

"Will do." Nellis returned to her polishing.

He kept his hands away from his blades, knowing that the person was most likely not human. This might prove to be in his favor, assuming he could reason with them.

The owner of the voice was a goblinoid. Not green, small and weak like the dungeon-living folks, but tall, hulking and muscled. He was holding a crude round shield and a old battleaxe with parts of its blade chipped or cracked.

"Hold your hands up, human," said the hobgoblin.
"Hands up!" chipped in a small, black goblin with a golden mask.
The hobgoblin bashed the masked goblin with his shield.

More talking

The guards all murmured in consent. A number of guards ventured the idea of having the party at one of the many abandoned houses that stood outside Dunbarten. There happened to be one such house that was just outside of Dunbarten's west gate. "'tis the first one you see," instructed a slightly drunk guard. The other men slowly started to disperse.

Zario ignored the demands of the goblinoids, but avoided going for his blades just yet. "You don't suppose you can take me to your village. I'm looking for an ogre named Kecepe. If I'm right he might be able to help me bring Kihol into this world." He decided to be straight to the point rather than be sliced trying to reason with them. If all else fails he'd have to fight back, but he was hoping for them to help him.
