Zario didn't want to stop for long, but he also had very little idea of the specifics of the monster village that lays days ahead. He trotted into the logging camp and stepped down from his horse while he looked for someone to talk to that might even have the slightest idea about the village.

Zario went straight to the person who seemed the least likely to question his motives : a teenage girl with large, innocent eyes that were a dark green hue. She was clutching a wand that told Zario she was a healer; and she was wearing a white robe with a green cross shape on it. The reasoning was that magic user = intelligent. At least Zario had never seen a dumb magic user.

Zario greeted her:
"Oh, hi! "
"Do you know much about the other continent, what was the name ..."
"Eria? Oh, yes; I took Geography for one of my classes. It's the big continent across the ocean! It has a bunch of wild animals and stuff. There's this big plain called the Maize, and to the east a desert, Muyu. Next to that, a forest! After that is the river, and no-one knows what's after that. Back to Mai-"
Zario cut off the deluge of unasked information.
"Are there any... large numbers of Fomorians in groups there? As in a small settlement of sorts?"
The young healer pondered for a moment, then hesitantly said,
"Well, Maize is reeeeeeeeeeeeally big, so, who knows? If there was a settlement, it probably would be masked goblins or hobgoblins, since they live in the many Maize ruins."

Zario thanked her and drew some distance away.

Alexander threw 20,000 gold coins down onto the table in front of Fergus, and said "Payment for the rest of the scythe plus interest. Sorry its a bit late." Alexander gives him a big grin, looks at the other two, and says to Fergus "Well figured I better tell someone I was leaving, and I still owed you some money Fergus, so there you go. You got some daggers I can buy before I leave?"

Fergus received the payment. "Lad, you don't need to pay this. I'll give you either three daggers or one 'stilleto', depending on what you need. If you're using the daggers to cut, take the regular ones. If you want a close-range weapon, the stilleto is your weapon of choice."

>Trade in five more bank notes.
>Buy fire, lightning, and healing from the magic teacher at the school.
>Put on new armor at home.
>Meet up with Donitz

Fire, lightning and healing books cost 28000 gold altogether. They were easy to understand, and Griph learned them all while waiting for Donitz.

((Update - Now you can either buy skill ranks with AP, or you can wait until the 0/100 becomes 100 and auto-rank without AP.))

Donitz, annoyed that Alexander gut him in line to deal with Fergus, continues to wait to buy a sword. After buying a weapon he heads to the general store to buy some raw meat to use in a soup or as bait on the journey. He then meets up with Griph.

"I'll take the daggers." Alexander replied, and waited for his merchandise.

Zario, wanted more information that what the intelligent yet scatterbrained healer had given, but he couldn't be picky in such a small camp without drawing attention to himself. Under the pretense of searching Maize ruins for archeological study he could more easily get better information, but that would have to wait until the next camp he could find. Zario mounted his horse and rode out of the village, and back down the path. He would need to make a camp soon, but he didn't want it so close to another camp.

Done :P

Donitz met Griph at the Tir Chornale town square.

"I'll take the daggers." Alexander replied, and waited for his merchandise.

Fergus handed three iron daggers to Alex. "Good luck."
He clapped him on the shoulder, then turned back to his work.

Zario mounted his horse and rode out of the village, and back down the path. He would need to make a camp soon, but he didn't want it so close to another camp.

Zario rode down the quickly darkening road. The galloping of his horse was the only sound accompanying him. In the distance, he could see some pairs of red eyes glowing in the dark, and once he could swear he saw a wizard flinging firebolts at a hapless traveler.

"Of course. I can't wait to depart." Donitz can hardly contain his nerves and excitement. "Do you mind if I pratice my Lute on the journey... Of course if you would prefer me not to draw attention to us, I understand fully."

Clearly the roads weren't a good option at this time of night, if people were getting bombarded at roadside. Zario didn't particularly care about the person he thought saw being attacked. Nothing personal, but he had better things to do tonight than baby an injured traveler. He turned off the road and looked for an enclosed area where he could start the ritual.

>Begin moving to Dugald with Donitz

Griph and Donitz started walking down the Dugald Alley. The dirt road, wide enough for three or for travelers shoulder-to-shoulder, was hemmed in by trees at first. As time passed, the trees retreated from the road and thinned out. The sun traveled across the sky and dipped under the horizon; by the time they got to the Dugald Woodcamp, they barely could see their feet. Both Griph and Donitz wondered why they hadn't brought a torch or lamp.

Nothing personal, but he had better things to do tonight than baby an injured traveler. He turned off the road and looked for an enclosed area where he could start the ritual.

Zario walked into the tall grass and wandered about thirty minutes in the dark evening. He found a small clearing with no grass and easily dispatched a curious black raccoon. Looking around, he checked that no-one nor nothing was there.

Not seeing anyone around him, Zario took ten bottles of blessed water, and a fire starting kit out of his backpack. He dug out a small hole, but it was deep enough to hold the water. He took one last quick glance around, and pulled the leathery orb from his robes. It felt heavy in his dirt covered hands as he lowered it into the hole. He started unscrewing the lids of the bottles of blessed water and pouring them over the orb. When the tenth bottle was poured he grabbed the fire kit and lit the tinder with the flint. When it caught fire he hastily dropped it into the holy water.

"I think I might have a solution for this darkness."
>See if a charge of the basic fire spell can act as a light.

Griph created a tiny ball of fire. It did not help with the dark at all. However,  when used to light a fire on the end of a stick, magical fire (which did not look any different from regular fire) brightened the path considerably. Because it was regular fire on a stick, Griph had to let go quickly.

Action

Being water, the fire sizzled and went out.

"That was terribly anti-climatic," said a tiny voice in Zario's head.

A calm wind slowly picked up. The blue Euweka and the normal moon started their climb into the sky, indicating it was roughly 6 o'clock.
