Leafing through the inventory Donitz picks up 2 of each available potion type and 2 base potions, as well as five days worth of food and supplies.

If there is money left he buys stuff in this order...

Potion Bag
Potion Making Kit
Potion Book
3 Beartraps

He will inquire about books on trap making and mechanics.

2 small health, mana, stamina potions and two base potions cost 170 gold.
Potion bag costs 370 gold.
Kit costs 860 gold.
Book costs 170 gold.
Three bear traps cost 3300 gold (they are reusable and have durability)

The healer, Dilis replied to the inquiry as such:
"What do you expect from a healer's shop?"

The general store Malcolm politely recommended going to the big bookstores in Dunbarton (down Dugald Alley, and about 12 hours from here) or Tara (very far...).

The person who sells cloths and cloth, Nora, gave a sewing kit for free.

You acquire 2 each of all three small potions and base potions, a potion bag, a potion kit, a potion book, three bear traps and a sewing kit. He also gets 5 jars of clean, fresh Adelia water (30 gold a glass jar) and five loaves of bread (17 a loaf) along with five slices of cheese (13 a slice). You use 5170 gold.

He broke into a run, looking for the first unsuspecting creature to cross his path.

Grith found and killed many brown foxes on the way to Albi. They were all unsuspecting, and a easy kill. Travis, the honorary town guard commented on his bloodthirst, but shut his mouth after a single glare.

The entrance to Albi, a cave opening in the mountains loomed before him.

((I'll assume this was intended for me?))

Watching the blood of the foxes fly through the air in arches only helped the bloodlust that cloud his mind. He smile widened, and he let out a small laugh as he split a fox in twain with his blood coated swords. It was clear that killing foxes was only a form of entertainment to him.

The crimson blood of the foxes that painted his black robes eased his mind, without even meaning to he found his way to Albi dungeon in his haze. The black cave entrance arched over him, calling him inward. Despite his miasma-like bloodlust he patted at his light bag, it was empty, or at least it might as well have been. Surely the dungeon would be a challenge if it was intended to be his test, and he needed some more supplies. He jogged back to the village covered in fox blood. The fox blood that soaked through the cloak coldly brushed his legs as he jogged.

Zario quickly bought 2 of each potion, and all the spellbooks he could find. He always had a knack for magic, but he never bothered practicing. Regardless, he had no time to waste he ran as fast as he could back to Albi dungeon. It was almost time.

((Sorry for not posting what I was going to buy in the last post. I should have realized it would slow things down.))

Zario managed to buy only one spellbook, the Basics of Magic - Firebolt one.

Update is being written as we speak! Read the two new books in the OOC thread!

Part One - The Reveal

The two teachers waited patiently on the square raised portion of the dungeon lobby. Behind them was a softly lighted marble statue of Morrigan, the goddess. Four of their five pupils were on time, and all six pairs of eyes turned to Zario as he stumbled in late, still stuffing a couple of potions into his bag.

"Sorry - I forgot to buy a bunch of stuff..."

Lasa nodded and started to speak.

"Now that everyone is here, let me start! This is, as you know, a simple graduation test. It isn't anything too hard, so don't freak out. Raynold here..."

Lasa gestured to Raynold, and he held up a piece of paper with the mark of evil and some sloppy letters on it.

"...has created a special ticket to a one floored, easy dungeon. You will mostly meet white spiders, with one giant spider and four red spiders at the end. Now, here is a basic textbook on dungeoneering, just for quick reference."

Five copies of Basic Dungeoneering were gave out.

"Now, step closer to the square!"

Lasa neatly sidestepped out of the square, while Raynold hopped out.
Every student slowly walked onto the square piece of rock.

Raynold held an arm out, and dropped the ticket, then quickly withdrew. The ticket slowly fluttered to the ground. On contact, the ink on it glowed feverishly red; a rushing was heard; vision blurred and the five disappeared along with the ticket.

"Do you think they'll be OK?"
Lasa asked Raynold.

Raynold grumbled something along the line of 'cat-sized spiders are weak', then walked out of the dungeon.

All five people were dropped into the dark lobby of the dungeon. Morrigan's statue glowed a ghastly white in the darkness. Stairs led into the full dungeon. Grim looks were exchanged, and they stepped forth.

The first room also had a statue in it. The room was hewn out of greenish yet white stone of some kind, with a smoothed floor and rough walls. As they cautiously made their way into the next room (which had a chest in it, looking lonely), the large wooden door behind them rattled close from above, more of a portcullis made of wood than a door. The chest seemed to be the only way out. Another door with a huge blue lock loomed before them, with a non-marked door behind. The room was about twelve-by-twelve meters.

One cautiously flipped the chest open ...

Some gold coins and a log pop out, along with two medium stamina potions with their distinctive yellow shades.

Seven kobolds materialize from thin air around them. Six of them have a round shield and short swords, and are wearing clothes that are threadbare. One kobold has a large metal helmet that looks like a bucket with a visor on, and is holding a combat axe and a kite shield.

For a moment, the kobolds looked around nervously, then the head kobold mustered up the courage to say,

"We are armed and dangerous!"

Silence descended on the room.

"These don't look like spiders..." Thrainn complained aloud.
Hastily, he drew his sword and shield, and assumed a battle-ready stance, just as he remembered it from Raynold's lessons.

"Oh really, why don't you prove it?" Renard said, and then sprinted, jumping over the chest, to attack the head kobold. His scythe fell in swiftly as he began his attack, and he unleashed a not-stop flow of attacks on the kobold. His mind began to fade ever, so slowly as the battle drew on, as if someone else was awakening to take his place.

Donitz smirks and pulls out his instrument while backing away from the Kobolds.

"Ohhhh.... Adventures are great....
The better race. Crushing the little dungeon folk...
Who are unworthy to shine our shoes!

Flee little maggots! Flee from death!
Lest we laugh over your corpses,
and feed you to the spiders."

Play and sing a song to inspire the party and demoralize the Kobolds. Bash any that come close with the instrument.

Thrainn found himself completely dumbfounded.
Not only was he confronted with a small military force of kobolds, rather than a bunch of mostly harmless critters, but he also had to realize that his current companions seemed to deem actions appropriate, that Thrainn would usually simply label as 'suicide'.
Actions like chargin head first into a bulk of armed enemies. Or starting to sing merrily while being pointed at with all sorts of sharp looking objects.

At least this Renard guy seemed to be able to handle his own situation to some extent, only leaving this chanting nutjob to be protected from having himself be introduced to all matter of pointy things.

Alexander leaped over the chest at swung his huge scythe at the head kobold!

The kobold was already ready and had its kite shield at bear. The scythe bounced on and slipped off the shield. The Head kobold received 12 damage! On the positive side, Alex learned Defense. Alexander's scythe was heavy, and though it was perfectly balanced, the sheer weight prevented Alex from counter attacking. The Head kobold dashing in and struck Alex's left shoulder with its axe. Thankfully, the axe was too blunt to deal any real wounds and merely bruised the shoulder for 18 damage.

Meanwhile, two kobolds advanced on Alex, while another approached Thrainn.

Thrain waited as Reynold told him ("Never attack first, unless its a wizard or a archer!"); he was rewarded as the kobold sloppily slashed out, and back stepped, only getting a small cut for 6 damage. He counterattacked with his sword and hit thrice, bruising the shield-arm and cutting off a few bits of flesh, dealing 16, 19 and 16 damage for a total of 51 damage. The kobold crumpled to the floor, whimpering in pain.

Alex was greeted with four slashes to the back, but the blunt swords did little but bruise. He received 6, 7, 7 and 5 damage to a total of 26. He might die of a thousand scratches if this keeps up...

Donitz retreated to the door and smirked while pulling out a lute. He played and sang with gusto:

"Ohhhh.... Adventures are great....
The better race. Crushing the little dungeon folk...
Who are unworthy to shine our shoes!

Flee little maggots! Flee from death!
Lest we laugh over your corpses,
and feed you to the spiders."

Some of the kobolds not actively attacking were rather taken aback at this strange reaction, and blinked, forgetting to attack. One was scratching its head, pondering whether or not he was being insulted.

Alex gets a bunch of bruises and 34 damage this turn; and Thrainn one-shots a kobold.

Donitz lifts his lute above his head as he continues to play, so as to bring it down hard on any Kobold dumb enough to approach and interrupt his song. He begins to alter his lyrics so as to insult the head Kobold and draw him away from Alex.

Your visor is not enough to hide your face from ugly,
nor your helm enough to protect your head from dumb.

Your axe fails to make the cut! Your fists hit like pillows!
That kite shield didn't protect your mother,
from the mistake that is you.

That kite shield didn't protect your mother,
from my swollen rod!

Zario drew his blades after muttering something under his breath. Zario's red eyes flared open as he dashed towards the kobolds. "You don't seem that intelligent fighting a man covered in blood. Soon your blood will also coat these robes." His long scarlet hair flicked forwards as he stopped just short of the kobold for the strike, one blade quickly flying after the first.
