No actually, I have most of a plot planned out in the event that you do die, the spider is your first real challenge(though the mushroom was supposed to be a tough battle, I didn't expect the shooting a rock thing.)

Anyway, still waiting for a general consesnsus on action, do we attack? Do we make a run for it? Do we hide? Do we rush towards the rocks so we can shoot it? Do we do something completely different like breaking into a song and dance number(No we're not, I couldn't do something like that, I'd probably just link to a video instead)

It's faster then us, and now it has uber eye sight. If we take the rock, it nabs us. How can we fight it when it's on the ceiling.

Contract into a ball and use some of our mass to send out a long tentacle to grab one of the spiders legs. Then RIP and TEAR. then consume.

Dive into tunnel, it cannot follow use.

If possible, activate sem-clear DAZZLE CAMOUFLAGE mode. (Look it up if you are unfamiliar with it)

That's the whole point of our many colours, after all!

It shouldn't be able to accurately pounce on us in that situation.
