So it prob would've been better if we took the web then.

Not really, Blob2 wouldn't have ran away so the spider could just have killed both of you at it's leisure.

I say we let it try to catch us... THen we eat it. Hey if blob dies we can always posses his lesser offspring.

We won't have skittles 2 as a distraction though. If the spider chooses to eat us first we'd be doomed.

I'm still with cunning plan #1.

I have a new idea! Compress yourself into the tiniest ball possible Then expand as much as you can downwards, Jumping up to eat the spider. It'll never see it coming. WE ARE THE APEX PREDATOR!

But we wouldn't be able to see the web it's no doubt built everywhere either.

How do we see anything at all?

Magic

A combination of the slimes scent and tremosense abilities and the otherworldly spirits' sensory enhancements are translated into the visual interface used to interpret the events taking place and react accordingly via giving command impulses to the Blob who is the ink to the viewed reality via which the viewers interact with the viewed reality.

So the current commands are hide, jump+attack or run around in circles to tire the spider, what should we do?

ATTACK! do not run or hide. That is what PREY does. A spider will be used to it's meals doing that. Prey gets eaten but predators do the eating. So attack and eat the delicious spider for great justice!

It's on the ceiling. Predators have to be smarted than their prey.
Spider - > Nom Skittles 2 - > Pick up rock(s) - > Shoot spider down from ceiling - > Nom spider - > Save skittles 2/eat remains - > Eat web. TASTY TASTY WEB.

This would work too. I vote for this.

You can't control the actions of the spider? Currently the spider is going to focus on you, since you aren't trapped in a webnet. Or am I understanding you wrong?

We're assuming the spider can't see us. Unless, you know, magic.

It followed us. And it has eyes. Why wouldn't it see us?

Because spiders have poor eyesight, and we are a clear blob. It could be following us through motion, that's also probably why it hasn't killed us already :d

Au contraire

Quote
Net-casting spiders (Deinopidae) have eight eyes, but in one genus, Deinopis, two of the rear eyes (PME) are enormously enlarged. Their great, curved lenses face forward like twin search-lights, giving the spiders a rather menacing appearance (the 'ogre-faced spiders').

The two biggest eyes are specialised for providing outstanding low-light night vision. They have enormous, compound lenses that give a wide field of view and gather available light very efficiently. The lenses have an F number of 0.58 which means they can concentrate available light more efficiently than a cat (F 0.9) or an owl (F 1.1). Each night a large area of light sensitive membrane is manufactured within these eyes (and rapidly destroyed again at dawn).

This remarkable combination of large, powerful lenses and the nightly production of new light-sensitive membrane, enables net-casting spiders to accurately track and 'net' their prey at night. Interestingly, they do this without the help of a tapetum, the reflecting layer present in other spiders with highly sensitive indirect eyes. White faecal spots on a leaf below the net are aiming points placed there by the spider.

While most spiders have poor eyesight, some have excellent eyesight, most notably jumping spiders, who can see four primary colours.
