Summon the vegetables (yes, a random assortment) instead of buying them. Who wants to bother with all that walking when you can relax and do it with a simple thought?

You will not give us a list of choices? Okay then, I guess we should get something that we can process. After all, alchemy works best on things that we make ourselves. We can't exactly grow the veggies right now, but we can smoosh them into vegetable jam or something. Garlic is a common reagent, and we can probably make it into garlic powder to increase its potency and made-by-us-ness. We should probably also get something cheap that looks poor-quality, cause that's always where the magic's at.

Summoning vegetables would easily be the best idea if we could. I am not so confident in our ability to do so. Also agree that it is not a good idea to smash them with our forehead unless our master tells us to do so. We are still learning, after all.
