Welcome all, To what I call, THE AMORPHOUS, RTD!
Why call it amorphous you ask?
Because it can be
ANYTHING!
The Rules, The World, The Story, Everything in this RTD will be Determined by YOU, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.
All you need to do is make a Character, and Survive.
Sounds Easy Right?
The entire game will be shaped around the survivors of these first few turns.
But only the best will make it.
Best of what you ask?
That's for you to find out.
Consider this part... "Try outs"
Your characters can be anyone and anything you want, and can do or have anything you want. Don't worry about "Stats", Numbers at this point are arbitrary, They will come later.
It's up to you to mastermind your character's life, their forms, their souls, their talents and weaknesses... their wants and desires... their abilities and strategies...
And then utilize them to perform this task at their hands... Their own survival.
As many people may join as they want.Joining Period is Over
Pm's are being sent and Awaited on
Datasheets are being constructed
Turns are being processed
Stories are being Hooked
Elemental Evils are Being Released
Splines are Being Reticulated
If Your Just reading this but still wish to join, send me a pm first, I'll probably let you in.
Probably.Just remember this...
If I don't care about you, I wont think twice when the dice decide to Kill you.
How you interpret that is up to you.
If you want to join, DON'T ASK, Just post your Characters and their turn. ^See above^
BOLD YOUR CRITICAL ACTIONS. IT MAKES ME
HAPPY. DON'T MAKE ME
UNHAPPY.
Everyone in the gauntlet is Considered to be alone, in an Identical gauntlet to everyone else, though two or more people my choose to be together in one.
Be sure to give enough information to run the entire gauntlet, if there's not enough information about something, then compensate for that, or take a risk.
Yes that's asking you to do A LOT in one turn. I promise in the rest of game there will be no turns nearly as long as this.. Unless you want that.
If you don't know how to go about a room, You can let the dice do the work for you. Just give me some information on your character's general approach to it. If you post what you will do in one room, and then post what you will do in the next, I will run your character through your current room until they get it, unless you specify otherwise, or I for some reason judge that the turn must end there. You may End your turn at any room if you simply post your actions ending at that room. However...
THIS GAUNTLET WILL ONLY LAST FOR TWO TURNS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.Also, Keep in mind, the rooms may change for better or worse in the second turn.
If you have any questions, I'm probably either keeping it a secret, or leaving it up to you, though I wont ignore you if you ask.
You have about 48 hours from this post to join. When joining closes, I'll Update this post. Results for turn one should be within about 24 hours after that.
EDIT:
EVERYONE, PLEASE POST YOUR CHARACTERS INVENTORY'SWithout them, I can only assume you have what you describe in your actions, and perhaps some basic gear, or maybe even random crap.
Yes you can Include "Random Crap" or "Various Objects" in your inventory, and I'll assume you have... well various random crap.
inb4 "Can we have Henry?". I would consider doing that quite Funny.
----End Edit----
Now Then, Time to Run...
You awaken... In a dark place.
Standing before you, is a door. Perfectly plain. Perfectly sized for you. Perfectly lit. Curious, as there is no light source, and as far as you can tell, there is nothing on the other side of the door.
Is this a dream? Is this reality? You don't know. Where where you before just now? You're as awake and as alert as ever. But instead of your normal surroundings... All there is, is a door...
A door which opens...
You see a flash of light...
And suddenly you know all that is beyond it, and that your destination is through it, far ahead.
The 1st room is simple. Barren. It's made entirely of grey stone blocks, from floor to ceiling. Time seems to have been cruel to it, as many of the blocks are uneven. Some stick out from the others, some are recessed inward. There is a simple door at the opposite end, the exit.
The 2nd room is more threatening. The left and right walls are lined with hundreds of golden spikes, which extend the entire length of the room. In the center stands a Demon, tall and gaunt, 7 feet in stature, he holds a brilliant and intricately etched longsword. About 5 meters from the entrance (Half way between where you would be and the demon) is a Golden Lever. The exit, like the previous room, is on the opposite side of the room. The Demon does not intend to let you pass.
The 3rd room... Cant really be called a room...
Standing before you is a great ravine, It is filled with clouds of mist, so you cannot visually judge how deep it is. You seem to be on a ledge of a great cliff face. The ledge does not continue to your left or right, and looking up, the wall of rock is almost perfectly smooth. Above you is a pristine blue sky. The air is Fresh, the sun is warm and inviting. The Unusually strong gusts of warm wind would be pleasant if not for what you saw ahead of you.
In front of you lies a thin stretch of rock, that traverses the ravine, to an opposite cliff face. It must be over 100 Meters long, but only few centimeters wide. Embedded into the opposing cliff face is your destination. A door, which leads to the next room.
The 4th room is a dark, twisting, labyrinth, It could be easy to get lost in here. Sounds can be heard from within. Unpleasant ones from unpleasant things that dwell within no doubt. The less time you spend here the better.
Somewhere within, you will find another door, the exit.
The 5th room resembles a large cave. Dripping from the ceiling, literally everywhere, is a disgusting blue sludge.
On the opposite of the room from the entrance, is a recession, where three monsters stand to keep you from the exit beyond them.
They will ask you to fight only one of them, you must choose which one.
One of them is a short wimpy looking orange thing somewhat reminiscent of a Pterodactyl. It has a long toothed beak, and sharp claws, but no weapons to speak of.
Another is just the opposite, a 10 foot tall behemoth. A Massive Blue Juggernaut made of stone and steel, wielding not one but two deadly looking morning-stars, each easily the size of a man. He will stare and growl at you unendingly when you enter.
The third is Dark floating gas in the shape of a man. It's Red eyes don't seem locked into any one position, and follow your every move. They seem to look through you.
Choose wisely.
The 6th room has no visible exit. All you see are mirrors. The walls are lined with them, and the entirety of floor and ceiling are both giant mirrors. While you're in here, you will feel as if your reflections are all watching you... you don't know why though...
Find your way out.
The 7th room resembles the first in that it is constructed of grey blocks, however, the ceiling seems to have caved in, blocking the exit. You'll have to move the blocks if you wish to reach it. Above the cave-in is a hole in the ceiling leading to a rocky vertical tunnel of blackness, water drips down from above. Whatever you do you may want to do it quietly, As in two corners of the room (The corners on the entrance side) there are two sleeping... Things. They kind of look like Scaly Wolves. They have sharp Fangs and Claws, and meshed into their bodies is some sort of metal.. contraption.... It may be a weapon of sorts.
The 8th room Is a great and Winding upward ramp, Its made of metal however and water is flowing down it... It seems to be raining up there. Its too slick to climb.
At it's base there is a bored, lonely looking operator holding a button, and some sort of sheathed weapon on his belt. The sheath looks like that of a sword, but the hilt has a trigger on it.
He claims that this button will turn the ramp into a stairway, which will allow you to climb it.
However, in return, he desires currency from you, A currency he calls "Henry".
You do not have any of this "Henry" on you as far as you know.
You need to get to the top of this stairwell, where the exit is.
The 9th room is the Final room.
There is no door to it, The stairway simply opens up into to it.
There are 4 walls, but no ceiling. Under one of the walls is a great sinkhole. Part of the wall above the hole seems to have collapsed and fallen down into it. Above you are dark grey clouds, pouring down rain in sheets. Floating in the center of the room is a single Red Orb. It will ask for your greatest fear. If you tell it, it will grant you permission to pass. There is a large archway in one of the walls, leading out into a misty meadow. The mist quickly becomes a wall of fog, you cannot see past it, but it is where you must go...
The vision Ends.
You see before you an open door.
Beyond it, The first room.
Good Luck.
