Hypocritic Dwarves... Make up your mind! Help needed on happiness and the like!

I have this one dwarf, hes my militia commander, and hes right now complaining about two things: 1. Being releived from duty and 2. Depressed from long patrol hours... What the hell do I do!?

just shot him with a balistic arrow, i think he will get stuned from that >.>

He won't be depressed about being relieved from duty if he has some civilian skills.  Make him a mason and have him crank out some rock blocks or something, until he has some levels in masonry.

How long should he be put off of the line of Duty to remove what is now ANGERED by patrol duty?

i'm not sure. It could be helping only if he has a job assigned that uses the skill. As I'm not sure. In any case, long patrol hours are really just about patrolls, kill orders or station orders, training didnt cause that anger for me. In general i just make sure theres food, booze, grand statues and a legendary dining hall. It tends to make their moods get better fast
