DO not fight the undead horde. Run. Run like merry hell. If we fight we'll run out of ammo, and get exhausted before they run out of zombies, but we're faster then them. RUN LIKE A BAT FLEEING HELL.

you're right about the firearm though. We should have given it to our sidekick corpse
And lose any chance of surviving the streets? What if the gun shop isn't until the next town?

A corpse is a corpse, and a corpse can't move under its own power. It's dead, Jim. How is an inanimate corpse going to fend off reanimated ones???

I don't see why you're so doubtful of our sidekick. He clearly did his best to fend off the endless undead hordes, and all you can do is talk badly about him.

The weight of every gun and all the ammo for them will slow you down significantly. Just the 12-gauge and shells for it.

Get a carbine instead. Shotguns are useless at great range, their ammon is too bulky, And a we want to stay as far away from these zombies as we can. Shotguns mean getting in closer then comfort. Or hey even better, just get ammo for the gun you already have. Unless you gave it to what's his face.

We're inside a hospital room with what looks to be only one entrance/exit. Unless Egbert plans to jump out the window like the fucking kool-aid man we aren't going anywhere. Shoot any zombies in the room, close the door, lock the door and barrciade it.

But first, shouldn't the boy ask about the map of the place so we don't run like hell in circles? Also, while one of us is busy searching, why not pry open them doors?

Carry that GUN! Even if it has no ammo, we could use it as a bashing object with the butt.
