Doing the turn now, but I just wanted to say that Tick's death was truly Epic, and in the proper sense of the word. Nicely done.
Time for me to make a random roll over the surviving sapient race! Will it be Windriders, Chimaera, or Dragons? Only the Random Number Gods know for sure! And me. Since Chimaera have such support I'll give them an even chance of surviving, with the others having a quarter chance. Plus, the world is going to flood! It will end up looking something like this...
Map's not complete yet, full version will go up with Turn in about four hours (hopefully). Still to do: Canyons, Rivers, Lakes, Other Terrain Types. I'm using a much larger base map, so future maps may well be significantly zoomed in (to about a 1pixel : 10km ratio), to give the full map roughly the dimensions of the Earth. Coreolis stream marks both the path of the storms and the concentrations of the floating islands, though the storm effects range out rather further. The Isle of the Winds not only floats but is pushed by the winds in a West -> East direction (against the Sun) across the twelve months of the year.
NB: Tick's grave will thus be on the island between Imsisa and Imsatium, unless Nuke wants me to move it to the edge of Imsisa. I'm responding to calls for more sea. =B
Re; DH's concerns: There will be a tribal association, but depending on the race you'll basically be starting on the same continent, so meetings will happen pretty much from the start. Gods will be dependent on either worship or secondary sources of power, but I have a good reason for that which will be explained in the Turn 1 fluff - essentially that gods are concentrations of divine Essence, but without mortal imagination they have no form of their own. Belief in their power doesn't give them power per se, but it concentrates more of their Essence into a form they can use.
I do intend to start gods off with minor acts, but when a god gets to 5 minor acts I'll upgrade them to start getting Lesser Acts instead, and so on so that we can slowly up the power level of the game as the turns progress (along with the advancement of civilisation). I'm really hoping to try and get us to at least the Renaissance if not Modern or Space Age, but that will mean continuing this about a year or two, at a turn per week. =P
