*snip (not the magic post)*

We should probably stop hand holding the windriders, they're big boys we don't have to teach them ANYTHING, they'll figure it out themselves, or at least that's my and Jilganhiems point of view.

Also what's the cost of producing god offspring (Athena, Hermes, etc), demigods (Hercules), etc.

Since I've (Jilganhiem) lost Most of my (his) faith in humanity.. windriderity?  They need a more direct less descriptive name.. or a different term for humanity.  Or just humanity that works too.  Lost track of what I was getting at, so yeah I'm gonna go hide in the woods and makes some daughters.

Now that I think about it, they would simply be immortal beings with some whimsical powers, but wouldn't ascend until people started worshiping them as gods, since that seems to be how the world works, people could worship the first geomancer couldn't they?  and thus when she "comes back" she's ascended to god hood like Talos in TES, not sure what her sphere would be though, since we already have 2 earth gods.

Worship alone will not grant apotheosis to a mortal.  Methods exist in the gameworld thanks to Turn 0, but all of them are difficult to acquire - and equally, those methods alone will not grant godhood either.  Worship presses the Essence into a specific form - provided enough Essence is available to give it one.  Right now, the world cannot support any more gods.  Pressing it into a form that already exists (e.g. a windridrer) would be very difficult indeed.

Re: Adwarf - So your vision is that it is easier to do broad, sweeping things with geomancy (despite their high power cost) than fine detail work?  In which case, a skilled but weak geomancer could plough a field whereas a novice with access to a ley point could raise a small hill.  Interesting.

A Chronomancer can do a number of different things:
-He can make time go faster or slower for something. This involves tricking the Clock. This is difficult, but it can be done, but must always be balanced- in the end, the Clock shows the same time for all things. So you can speed something up, provided that it is slowed down later. (Or vice versa)
-However, he can also change a rhythm. For example, the rhythm of human life is: man is born, lives a few decades, then dies. A powerful Chronomancer could change this rhythm so that a man lives a few centuries instead of a few decades.  Another example of this is bringing Rhythm to something which did not have it before, such as, yes, bringing the rhythm of a human body to a dead statue.
-Predict a creature's fate. Only the fate of mortals can be predicted. And, of course, due to the power of Choice, it is not always true.
-Most powerful and mysterious- and only available to mortal Chronomancers- is the power to permanently change something's fate. This would require Biomancy as well, and obviously be high-end stuff.

Or something like that. Basically it would follow those guidelines, I figure.

E: Day to day use would be rare. Mostly for fortune telling, or, indeed, animating unliving things which cannot be revived with Biomancy. Such as UnLiving.

My vision of Geomancy is different than Adwarf's.

In my opinion, the quantity of earth moved should change the difficulty of a spell. Before doing anything with the earth, a geomancer would need to place a little part of his essence inside. Moving a mountain would be extremely hard, because the Geomancer needs to place his powers into incredible quantities of rock and soil, but once the geomancer controls the mountain - once a part of his essence has been placed inside every bit of rock or soil of the mountain - he could do nearly anything he wants with it.

As such, a novice geomancer without any access to a ley point could place a part of his essence in a small stone and throw it at someone's head at 200 mph, and a master geomancer standing on a leyline could be able to sink an island - or throw the island at someone's head at 200 mph.

And if i downsize it to Copper Working? I mean they can get it from the ground so no mining required and they don't need a more sophisticated state system...

That would be fine, but I'll give them a shot at working it out anyway as part of the 'trying for bronzeworking' thing.  Post if you change your post, though.

Ah well the Geomancer in question would have to be able to control the amount of power they summon, the more the summon the more dangerous it is, and if they go past their control limit, they get burnt to a cinder, and dragged into the Ley-lines. At least thats how I see >.> me, and Shootandrun seem to be at an impasse on that (MY CREATION !!!)

Wouldn't it make more sense if they crumbled to dust instead of being burnt?  Just putting that out there. <-<

Not really as what kills them is the overabundance of essence not their powers.

Essence isn't tied to any one element, it would make even less sense for say.. an aquamancer to be burned to a crisp instead of say melting.

I am popping in to mention that I'm following this Godhood now.

Also- If there is any confusion about Godhood's background, you can ask Iituem. If he's in doubt, he'll ask me!
Hopefully.

Well, yes.  Seeing as he did sort of invent the game and I am using his rules.  =P
