NOTE: The proffesion isn't going to lock your main guy into being whatever he is (forcing him to be a mechanic if you pick mechanic for example) and I am mainly just going to use it to assign starting equipment (like his hat, nothing important) and how people feel about you and general background things. (in short: Mostly cosmetic stuff)
It so happens that I have a lot of free time on my hands again so I am giving up on lurking and starting another adventure. I was a bit disapointed with how cold the last one felt(to write it anyway) and I think that was due to the perspective so this time the story will be told from an indervidual. I'm also going to try and be more organised with this one and try to remember how much of what is around and probabley have actual stats for the main characters, weapons and managment things. So this probabley qualifies better as a spiritual succesor then an actual sequal.
I felt like it was worth starting a new adventure instead of continueing on with build a village mostly because of pace, it was taking forever to get things done. I said this a few times in the actual thread so i may sound like i'm making a big thing out of it but it really had a downside in that it boring to update. Most of the time it seemed like I should just pass a bunch of turns at once but it never really felt right to do that for me since the day was really important and it mattered that lots things were being managed every turn and the night was important because that is when the monsters attacked. This only got worse since there was a lot of things people wanted done and only a few villagers so I was always torn in between what they should be doing. There was always the food issue that people pointed out and it was hard to choose whether I should do what that one person said and stick them on fishing (Sorry but I can't remember who it was that was really pushing for it) or whether I should try and make things more bareable for myself and only keep a few villagers on fishing and try to make the village worth updating.
I am also not really in the mood for that old timey stuff at the moment and you can get away with more in sci-fi I feel. Sure you can get away with anything with the wizard excuse but if you do it all the time it ruins the magic a bit but with science fiction you can go a little bit more crazy on the technology since it makes a bit more sense they would use it for everything since they know how it works. Of course thats just because I am one of those people that thinks magic should seem magical and there are probabley a lot of people who would just be damned and go crazy with the magic anyway. (Plus with Sci-fi you can go nuts with glow and glow is awesome on pretty much every level.)
Of course you probabley have no idea what I am talking about unless you read the last adventure I did so here is a
link.
And i'm sure you will all be glad to hear that my crazy/inconsistent punctuation/
bolding is still hanging around.
