Everyone got to be a God here-there were no haves and have nots, just the powerful and those who wanted to take that power.
Actually Psychic Control are pretty good at what they do and life is quite safe as long as you keep to yourself. About 95% (everywhere else psychics are one in a million) of the locals are humans and they live fine.
how long till the entire island devolved into some ridiculous rehash of 'Highlander', with everyone killing and absorbing everyone elses power so they could continue to kill?
Bingo. Except as mentioned, not as bad, since those that want power are actually considered evil rather than being an average
highlander psychic.
And of course, pretty blondes always got axed in murder movies...
This, on the other hand, is not true. First, I didn't plan to have him attack
you, second - he's not the "big bad". You'll see.
And also this is something I wanted to mention, for future POWER LEVELS!!!!!11!!!11 discussion: while Rebecca may sound stronger than Steve, they're actually about equal. For Rebecca to use her power, she needs to concentrate and imagine the result she wants to achieve. Her power is pretty much limitless...as long as she can focus. Steve can only create objects that exist somewhere in the world. He's actually "copying" rather than creating. This means his power is limited to things that actually exist, but he uses his power much more easily. Rebecca couldn't create 100 blades like Steve, because the human mind can't imagine 100 objects at the same time, while Steve can create as many objects as he wishes and the size of the things he creates is limitless (once again, you couldn't imagine an entire planet at the same time). On the other hand, Steve can only create specific objects, while
Yukari Rebecca can create or destroy anything including energy and abstract concepts (such as her "frame" ability). So, yeah, POWUH LEVUHL DISCUSHUNZ!!!!111!!!!
Oh, right, turn.

Turn 1:
-Bored and not quite sleepy, you make a sandvich and admire the sky. For a short while, you get lost in thought. You remember your life before you arrived at the island, your childhood, your- what's that sound?
You hear the sound of someone running. Your door opens and something hits the floor with a loud THUD. You immediately go check it out. A woman dressed in the uniform of Psychic Control is lying on the floor. Her back is covered in cuts and there's a knife stuck in her spine - a wound only a powerful psychic could survive.
Her condition is frightening. You can sense that she is a grade III, but her psychic field and energy are almost non-existent. That knife...it's not a psychic weapon. It's just a regular pocket knife. Normally a psychic of her strength wouldn't even be harmed by it. She was weakened by the fight so much that even a human could take her life now.
What will you do?
Power: Electric Manipulation (grade I) - You can create and control electricity.
Psychic Field: Lv1
Energy Potential: 100%
Energy: 100/100
Status: Healthy.
Known power applications:
Lv1 Electric bolt (25/50 energy):
You can launch a bolt of electricity at an enemy. Spending 50 energy makes the bolt more powerful.
Lv1 Shock (25 energy):
Short-ranged electric attack. Range and power can be greatly extended by sending the shock through metal or water.
-Such a risky job...but if it is for the good of the world, so be it!
You meet with the local leader of Psychic Control and ask to join their ranks.
(3) After the job interview he looks at you as if thinking. After a few uncomfortably silent seconds, he speaks.
"...Well, I suppose you could be of use to Psychic Control. Fine."
(3) You then request a weapon, preferably knuckledusters.
Your new boss laughs.
"A psychic weapon stores the energy of its wielder. You'll want something bigger to actually harm most psychics. Go to the armory."
You do as the leader tells you. First you are issued a longsword and a standard issue assault rifle as well as a uniform, of course. After you voice your dislike of the sword and your preference of eastern weapons, you are issued a bo staff instead. At first it looks like a small steel baton, but you are told that it reacts to your psychic field and extends into full size when you will it. Neat.
Power: Enhanced Muscles (grade 0) - You are stronger and quicker than any human.
Psychic Field: Lv1
Energy Potential: 100%
Energy: 100/100
Status: Healthy.
Known power applications:
Lv1 Enhanced strength (passive)
You're strong enough to lift cars. You're attacks are powerful enough to seriously hurt psychics.
Lv1 Martial trance (30 energy, free action)
For one turn you have greatly improved reflexes, letting you dodge attacks much easier.
Inventory:
Bo Staff (psychic)
Psychic Control assault rifle (psychic)
-Right now training to become stronger would probably be the wisest choice. You wonder if Daniel is at home?
(4)You knock at the door. No response. Maybe he's asleep? You probably shouldn't bother him. The idea of going alone seems quite frightening, knowing that there's a murderer loose. With a sigh you turn around and-
"-wha-DANIEL DON'T YOU SCARE ME LIKE THAT!"
"...Oh, hi. I had some extra work today, so...oh, were you looking for me?"
"Y...yeah...I wanted to go train my powers. You know, just in case. I thought you would keep me company."
"Sure, why not?"
You go to the rooftop, chatting about random topics on the way there.
When you arrive there, you try to erase small objects.
(1)(-15 energy) You can't concentrate. Nothing happens.
You feel slightly scared. In actual combat it would be even harder.
"Maybe you're just having a bad day?" You hear Daniels voice. "Don't push yourself. Maybe you should just try this some other time?"
Power: Idea Realization (grade III) - You can manipulate the border between dreams and reality.
Psychic Field: Lv1
Energy Potential: 150%
Energy: 150/150
Status: Healthy.
Known power applications:
Lv1 Frame (50 energy)
You can lock an enemy in an invisible cage.
Lv1 Erase (15/30/50/100 energy)
You can remove a part of any object from reality. The amount of energy spent determines the scale of the powers effect.
Lv1 Guardian (50 energy)
You summon a creature to protect you. The creature has a psychic field, making it hard to kill. 50 energy summons anything smaller than a human. Improving this skill will let you summon stronger creatures.
-Your power seems quite profitable. You wonder how it works...
(2)(-100 energy) You try to copy a pencil. Suddenly about ten more materialize. You know you can do better.
You begin to understand your power more. When you create something, you can't manipulate it. More importantly, you aren't actually creating something. You are copying objects. Not from the real world - you are actually copying the idea of an object and bringing it into the real world. For example if you thought of creating a "sword", if you were thinking of a katana, your power could still randomly create a gladius, longsword, zweihander or something like that. More importantly, since this power interprets everything so simply and literally, if you wanted to create "nine million planets", you could pull it off without effort if you were powerful enough.
Power: Greed (grade III) - You can create seemingly infinite amounts of objects. In addition you have amazing energy potential, which is much needed since your powers are very expensive.
Psychic Field: Lv1
Energy Potential: 200%
Energy: 200/200
Status: Healthy.
Known power applications:
Lv1 Razor Storm (50/100 energy)
You create and launch countless miniature blades at an opponent. 50 energy creates 100 blades, 100 energy creates 300 blades.
Lv1 Mass Generation (50 energy)
You create a huge sphere of metal and drop it on your enemy. Easy to dodge, but not many can survive that.
Lv1 Copy (100 energy)
You can create perfect copies of anything you see and place them anywhere you want. The bigger the object, the less copies you make. Can't copy sentient creatures. Power so far limited to things not bigger than a suburban house. Dropping it on someone is a valid tactic.
-(1) You read the...what newspaper? You have the worst luck. Maybe you should just go to sleep. Or maybe you could go to the streets and fight crime! Or sleep. Whatever.
Power: Psychic Killer (grade 0) - You have an aura that negates everyones psychic field. On the bright side - if you're lucky you can kill anyone. On the other hand, your chances of doing so are very low.
Psychic Field: Lv1
Energy Potential: 0 - psychic anomaly.
Energy: 0
Status: Healthy.
Known power applications:
Lv1 Defense Breaker (passive)
All your attacks negate psychic fields. Limited to weaker fields until trained.
Lv1 Negation (passive)
You have a very small chance to negate any psychic power.
It is indeed getting late. You start walking towards your apartment (2) and hear a voice behind you.
"HEY YOU! GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY OR DIE!"
You take a look at the one who dares attack you. A rather scrawny looking guy with a hoodie is holding a psychic handgun aimed at you. His psychic field is so weak you can barely feel it. He probably can't even feel the psychic fields of others. Such a pathetic weakling.
However you remember that you don't have many ways to actually hurt someone who relies on weapons, especially since you don't have a weapon yourself. Shit.
Power: Field manipulation (grade II) - You can manipulate psychic fields. Such understanding of psychic powers also grants you great energy potential.
Psychic Field: Lv1
Energy Potential: 150%
Energy: 150/150
Status: Healthy.
Known power applications:
Lv1 Restore Balance (50 energy, free action)
You destroy all matter and energy created by psychic powers in a small area around you. Can be used defensively as well, blocking any psychic power that doesn't overpower it.
Lv1 Disperse Psychic Field (x energy, free action, no roll)
Your target loses as much energy as you used for this power.
Lv1 Psychic Assault (passive)
All enemies near you have their psychic fields weakened, making them easier to kill.
