Colonizer.net V.3: Back From The Space Grave.
« on: December 16, 2011, 12:57:53 am »

Welcome to Colonizer.Net version three.

The Berylin sector of the galaxy isn't very important. At all. But its one of the most hotly contested sectors of it. Empires fight bloody or not so bloody wars for a place of absolutely no worth.
The fun part is...Your one of the empires! Unite the sector under your banner, by peace, by force, or by randomly burning all of the other planets. Go crazy. This sector of the galaxy is your shelled mollusc species!

Name: Tearakudo A'Valti of the Nalian Highguard
Descript: The Nalian people are aggressive fishers and territorial about damn near everything. Highly defensive, they resolt to tactics and diplomacy in situations they feel they're not string enough to outright win in a fair fight.
Breathable Atmosphere: Damn near anything, Homeworld is largely Methane and Nitrogen. Carbon and Oxygen act as despressants and stimulents (respectively) to their phisiology. Lengthening and shortening (again, respectively) the life span, yet having inverse effects on their fertility due to evolutionary advances.
Average lifespan: Just over 100
Body composition: Carbon-based lifeform with several small 'gills' on the back of the neck. Each one filtering different aspects of the air they breathe.
Planet type: Oceanic

Aiming for the "Hyper-expansionist" philosophy. High abilities for breeding and colonization, defensive military strength - but ships hit like a wet noodle.

Name: Ailuren
Descript: The Ailuren did not evolve entirely within this space/time. They still possess a presence within normal space, but its complicated. They evolved on an asteroid belt with limited gravity and moved their entire people from there to a mineral rich desert planet. They are incapable of living on the surface of a planet (due to gravity causing them serious problems) and as such live entirely on space stations constructed in orbit.
Breathable Atmosphere: The artificial atmosphere they create on their space stations is high in nitrogen and argon.
Average lifespan: 50y
Body composition: For the most part they scan as a large anomalous electrical field with some small mass. This physical presence can be effected by all conventional arms.
Planet type: Desert

Alternate Reality: We can't step on planets, instead collecting resources by remote mining and living entirely in space stations.

Name: Ssaros
Descript: With wiry limbs, and reptilian features, you wouldn't suspect that the Ssaros could kill you several ways. Naturally skilled with almost any weapon, the Ssaros hail from Karigdar, a verdant world with forests and swamps, and artifacts from a race long forgotten.
Breathable Atmosphere: only real requirement is 12% oxygen or higher.
Average Lifespan: Around 2000 years.
Body Composition: Nothing too extreme, just silicon scales
Planet Type: Marshy and Verdant

Name: Cr'yan
Descript: Humanoid amphibians with an extra pair of arms on their lower back and bend a little to the front. Cr'yan are a curious race that treat nature very respectively with their technology, most of the time their metal like structures being being in organics with a concentration of heavy metals. They're militarily defensive, but also think ahead, many times engaging an enemy aggressively to deny them a resource that would easily let them defeat the Cr'yan later. They mix ingenuity, advancement and tradition to form their culture.
Breathable Atmosphere: 15% oxygen, with higher levels providing higher performance. Also can breathe underwater.
Average lifespan: 150 to 200.
Body composition: Carbon based amphibians, nothing special.
Planet type: rainforests with large oceans and many islands.

How RP heavy is this?

Name:  Grantar Union
Description:  A silicon-based lifeform that resembles a rock, especially when still.  They stand around four feet on average, but their wide bodies are very dense and heavy.  Their flesh is chitinous and hard, with grey to brown coloration. Their evolution on a high-gravity world (roughly double that of Earth) is reflected in their view on life- they think things through slowly but are near unstoppable once their mind is made up.
Atmosphere:  Oxygen, similar to our own, though argon is much more prevalent as an inert gas than nitrogen.
Average Lifespan:  About 90 years.
Body composition:  Silicon-based life.  Short and wide shape, roughly humanoid, though with little in the way of neck.  Tough skin- they resemble rocks when motionless, especially if hunkered down.
Planet type:  Rocky desert, with an abundance of hills.  Their preferred climate resembles the steppes of central Asia.

As much or as little as you want.

Looks good. I'll run the starting turn as soon as I get done uploading the starmap for the sector and editing the rules.

Does a troop of marines costing "1000tp" cost 1000 population units or 1,000,000?  Just want to make sure I have your notation straight.

I'm gonna point out that my co-ordinates for my sun is not on the map.

Also, I'll do my turn Sunday, MAYBE tomorrow. Quite a bit to think about! :P
