This weird ambient outro at the end of pioneer black metal band Burzum's 'Det Som Engang Var' album. It means Black Thrones in Norwegian. I've been listening to this band for about... 4-5 years maybe? My current avatar is the guy from the band too; a generally likeable, upstanding individual of whom I share many core values with...  ;D

Oh, the Fascist neo-nazi murderer who burned down 3 churches and planned to bomb the HQ of some other random pseudo-political group, who makes us pagans look like a bunch of raving lunatics. Good music, ridiculously bad life choices. >_> I think he went free a year or two ago, if I'm not mistaken. Did he ever go back to making music?

I have an odd feeling that most people mispronounce it, though. Anyone wanna take a crack at it?

My username really has no backstory, it's just a combination of syllables that sound cool when you put them together. I guess that's where most names come from, really. And, like a surprising number of people here, I first used it on Runescape years ago.

I started chatting on IRC when I was 13, back in 1996.
Ooh, reminds me of another (long abandoned) identity, from IRC.  And one which I might as well expound.

The first time I joined I was unaware that spaces wouldn't be allowed (at least not without tricksying the name-definition, a bit) so when I chose to be called "Six Speed"[1] I ended up as "Six".  (If anyone mentioned it, they generally thought I'd taken that from The Prisoner, of course.)  One night, everyone on the channel I was on[2] decided to promote themselves, and so I became "LordSix", and kept that name (and even registered it, by whatever mechanism existed) for evermore.  Not sure if I was still on IRC in '96, so you probably never talked to me (even if I was on the same channel-splits as yourself), but you bring back nostalgic memories.

[1] At the time, and I suppose continually since, I was (I suppose) railing against these new-fangled Mountain Bike things with a large number of gears, most of which are useless anyway.  My bike at the time had six rear sprockets and a single chain-ring, which was enough for me.
Spoiler: And, now... (click to show/hide)

[2] It did involve a bit of RP, but I don't recall I ever did what "da yoot ov 2day" call 'Cybering'... Not me being repressed, just too much other stuff to do, like getting people onto channel #eliza claiming 'she' said she knew the guy[3]... :)

[3] It was usually a guy.  And, while there were female names on IRC, that I took on trust, older and wiser me is sure that not every one of them (even/especially those that became a Lady on that mentioned night of noble-promption) was entirely honest.  Maybe it was good fortune that I never did Cyber!

The name originated in proto-form from my Youtube account, SuperZergMan. (Named such because in those days I was pretty hyped up for Star][Craft.)
I guess I just like adding "fuzzy" to stuff.

Combination of two etymologies for my given name. I've used some variant of it for...well, before there was a Web.

Only later did I discover that it's also an existential character in Through The Looking Glass, as well as the obvious playing card reference.

last year thought about changing to a more appropriate name.
A combo of tellurium, telepathy, murius that was some Latin I made up which I can't remember its meaning.

Gat-lay-ose is how I think of it.
Gat rhymes with cat, le with sleigh, and os with dose.

I used to play with Legos a lot.  I had one lego guy who was always the hero.  His clothes were blue, and I gave him a blue wizard hat and a blue lightsaber.  Then I realized I had to come up with a name.  I started with "Blue," and wondered how I could stylize it into something more interesting.  So I reversed it, "Eulb."  Which sounded dumb.  So I flipped the b into a d.  "Euld."

Blue blue.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I pronounce it as "ee-old," which isn't grammatically correct.  A friend pronounced it as "you-uld," based on the pronunciation of eulogy.
Mine has similar origins. It's the name of a Human Alien species with telepathic control over energy and the ability to survive in the vacuum of space called "Kadzarians". The sole representative member had a samurai head and Darth Maul's clothes. I believe he was often accompanied by two ninjas with Darth Maul's head.

Shortening it to Kadzar was a pretty natural transition, though I can't recall where I first used it. It's quite possible I had a character by that name on Runescape, though if it is I doubt that's where I first used it. Most places I go by Kadzar, though not all Kadzars are me.

Also, sometimes I add to that the made-up last name "Tathram" (especially if just "Kadzar" is already taken), which I came up with for something that required a last name for registration, since it seemed to fit well.

Hm. I don't know where my name came from. Maybe I was eating a muffin and reading the news? It's also entirely possible that I picked two words at random from my mind and put them in the name field.
