Children of the Gods(God Game)
« on: December 15, 2011, 07:43:29 pm »

-----

Hi there, with the high popularity of the other god games, I decided I'd try a short one for myself since people enjoy them so much. This will be an encouraged roleplaying strategy roll to god type thing. 7 players, no more, no less. You have until 0:00 EST on the 18th of December to post your application. I will choose the 7 ones I feel are the best, most creative, and most fun.

Each 'turn' you will have free roleplay and conversation allowed, along with 1 major action. Major actions can be appealing to an Elder god for help, creating something(item, creature, planet, whatever), guiding your creation(A one sentence command, a single goal given) or a direct siphon(drain divine power directly from another, spend some of your own power to have a contest against another player both getting a random roll, higher roll gains power)

Each action will get a little write up by me, each turn, and you will gain or loose Divine Power points, depending on random dice rolls. I'll probably use a D100 system, and keep it as simple as I can. This game will end on the 20th of January, approximately 1 month from the start. So plan accordingly.

Name: Dulit
Type: Ethereal
Domain: Paradoxes
Gender: Both
Alignment: 50%/50%
Avatar:  Dulit is something of a paradox, for Dulit is two things at once, both two seperate entities and only one, Dulit is male or female, always tall, brown haired, black haired, elven, human, beautiful, plain, evil, good, yet all of these at once, and yet seperate.
Followers: Dulit is worshipped by the Dronoriytes, a species with can take two totally different forms depending on gender, either hoofed mammals as males, or carnivorous mammals as females.
Brief Follower Bio: In addition to the physical information listed above, they have two major civilizations: A despotic, evil empiric civilization clled the Felnisians, based off of Dulit's female evil personality, and a quiet, quaint greek-style democracy named the Exkrifs, based upon Dulit's male, good personality. They were created when a normal mammalian species was infused with the essence of Dulit's paradoxity. Dulit did it without her other personality's permission, so Dulit lessened the impact from the splintered dying creatures she wanted it to be, to a simple dual race.

Divine Friend: Lel, Demi-God of Neutrality, who understands and likes that although Dulit has two alignments in equal proportion, together they act neutral.
Divine Friend:
Divine Friend:
Divine Friend:
Divine Enemy: Rahen, Demi-god of Order- He sees Dulit as too split and chaotic.
Divine Enemy: Krleg, Demi-God of Chaos, seeing Dulit's parts as too unified, as false chaos.
Divine Enemy:
Divine Enemy:

Brief Bio: Dulit came from the inevitable conflict that arose from the creation of the Ethereal Divine, conflicting- yet staying stable. In childgodhood, Dulit was mainly shunned, his/her dual personality leaving many of the other Ethereal Divine confused and put off. He really only gained a few close companions, and with the same a few horrible enemies.

Interesting first post. :) And a good showing that you can really be creative here. Go for anything, you can make it work. One note though, in your worshipper info, you put the genders as both female, I assume the males are the reptiles? Bit of a creepy furry vibe going on there, but to each his or her own.

Name: Almer
Type: Ethereal
Domain: Ambition and all that entails.
Gender: Nil
Alignment: 55% Existence 45% Void
Avatar: Either a aristocratic-looking man (depends on culture) or a silver-white crow.
Followers: No one race; just people all over the world offering me prayers every now and then...
Brief Follower Bio: The Cult of Almer has existed since the first civilisations where created, and some say even before that. The Cult is known for their rather pragmatic worship practices; a few prayers and an offering a week. Almer doesn't really want worship so much as watching his followers shape the world. Also its a bit of a misnomer to refer to them as a Cult, rather they happen to be hundreds of little cults that probably don't know about each other.

Divine Friend: Dorv- Demi-god of Storytelling. They like telling each other tales and little things they'v heard in the world.
Divine Friend: Olsov- Death's helper.  Literal brothers. Not evil at all, just doing his hob.
Divine Friend: Falev- Demi-god of Special Destiny. Falev often creates heroes/villains. Almer likes watching and fuelling these individuals.
Divine Friend: Mercatus-Demi-god of Commerce. You need to haggle and deal to fulfil your ambitions.
Divine Enemy: Rahen- Demi-god of Order. Ambition ruins order, doesn't it?
Divine Enemy: Ormul-Demi-god of Fate. Ormul doesn't like it when Almer and friends changes the futures of the predestined.
Divine Enemy: Javan-Demi-god of Aggressive Humbleness. Javan wants equality, utter goodness, and an eradication of all government and the such...Not good for stories.
Divine Enemy:

Kratos is a "friend", but Almer doesn't really bother talking to him much, always going about honour....Oh and this guy named Kor thinks me an "enemy", but really how am I going to take utter stasis seriously? Not like you can freeze the whole universe...The trying of which would be a good story...

Brief Bio: When the first mind was created, Almer still did not exist. When there were ten minds, Almer was born from the lowest of them, wanting to become strong...Almer is the embodiment of such things. In his youth, Almer chose to stay away from the Gods, even ignore his comrades, save for a few. He preferred to watch the mortals live and record their stories.

Looks good Mice, but Ambition isn't a Physical Domain, I think you want the type to be Ethereal. Ambition, Storytelling, or Knowledge and the like are all Ethereal concepts and emotions. Not a physical animal or race.

Also, are you 55% Existence? or 55% void? Try and fix that to keep to the xx%/xx% style.

Just a question? How long is a typical post supposed to be? If you have to write up a 10-20 line post every day I'll have to pass, as I have learned English as a second(actually third) language.

Name:Kratos
Type:Ethereal
Domain:War and Honour
Gender: Male
Alignment:50/50
Avatar:A large horned human with skin as black as tar and a large sword slung over his shoulder.

Followers: All who pursue acts of war, however there is a temple on the highest mountain of Earth who train constantly for the coming war.
Brief Follower Bio: It is said that when a hero is born the earth changes ever so slightly, the humans who dwell upon the mountain in the far reaches of the earth can detect these changes and set about bringing the heroes to their mountain home to train in preparation for the eternal war.

Divine Friend:Almer-God of Ambition: their domains often meet, meaning they work together often.
Divine Friend:
Divine Friend:
Divine Friend:
Divine Enemy:Lel, Demi-God of Neutrality: Lel cannot see why people should be opposed to one another.
Divine Enemy:
Divine Enemy:
Divine Enemy:

Brief Bio: Kratos was born into a world filled with chaos, a world of war and destruction. rather than try to change the world as some of his brothers and sisters did, Kratos embraced it becoming the true embodiment of the perfect soldier.

Name:Aeolos
Type:Elemental
Domain: The winds,(bad weather in general?)
Gender: Male
Alignment:40/60
Avatar: A humanoid shape in the mist/fog/clouds.

Followers: A single setelement on the flank of a old volcano island. Due to sounds the wind makes when in blows through the many cracks and canyons of the volcano's surface, many believe the winds being locked up in the inside of the vulcano, released bij Aeolos though cause storms and destruction. Maybe they are. The island lives of trade and fishery.Belief has later spread through trade and is very strong on they island itself, as they who fail to make their yearly offerings to the temple see their fleets rapidly diminishing by a series of supiciously local storms.

Brief Follower Bio: Originally a group of sailors that stranded on the island, these men have a troubled past and have seen lots of hardships. While these hardships are a thing of the past now, as the settelement is now a succesfull trading port due to generally favorable weather conditions, it is still heavily fortified against pirates and storms alike.

Divine Friend:....Demi-God of the sea: Winds and sea go great thogheter
Divine Friend:....Demi-god of things that fall out of the sky: WHat's a storm a whitout rain, lightining and falling turtles.
Divine Friend:
Divine Friend:
Divine Enemy:....
Divine Enemy:......(Demi-God of farming, crops,(nature?)): While cows and funnelclouds go great toghether, they're not good for agriculture
Divine Enemy: Whatever is the demi-god of order: Aeolus doesn't feel the need to keep to things like storm seasons and/or climates
Divine Enemy:

Brief Bio: Aeolus came to being togheter with a whole bunch of wheather gods. He doesn't enjoy destruction(Ok maybe a little) but those who oppose him might suffer from unexplainable local metreological phenomena.

P.N: I'm quite bad at naming things, might fill these in later.
Edit: Just read about the dates, I will be unable to post for one week( forget when exactly though, have to look that up)
Edit 2: Probably not goingto partake in this one, as I'm gone for a week(not this week) and don't quite like the limited time idea.

Name:Shade
Type:ethereal
Domain: Death
Gender: Nil
Alignment: 5% existence/95% void
Avatar: i am the a dark unformed mass of pure darkness. with tentacles. dark creepy tentacles.

Followers: Nightchildrens,
Brief Follower Bio: they resemble shadows, and act/move/do stuff only when there is LIGHT enough to be able to cast shadows. they act as my intermediaries to grab the souls of those who die, and bring them where they should go.
The bad ones, they eat or tear apart (like ghost, the film)

Divine Friend: Chronos, demigod of the final hours. everything must go and eventually die, for you cannot stop time, he makes sure the final hours of living beings go about in their normalty (aka, he stops those who could learn the future from changing others people death time).
Divine Friend: Anubis, demigod of judgement, to him are brought the souls of the good guys, to be decided where and in which heaven they should go (practically, a salarymen of heaven who works in a box office in heaven to assign people)
Divine Friend:
Divine Friend:
Divine Enemy: Maia, the demigoddess of born life, her and her dimwitted idiotical idea of "everything must stay alive when it's born" she's on the edge with Shade because sometimes, newborn kids do die, and she can't withstand this.
Divine Enemy: Ade, the demigod of hell, he wants the souls of the dead to make them suffer, and then bring them back to the circle of life (reincarnation) thus we are in disagreement, since i have them destroyed to prevent them from returning to the circle of life.
Divine Enemy:
Divine Enemy:

Brief Bio: i was born in the midst of nothingness, as a helper to the god of death. like him, i feel less than no emotions, but unlike him, i prove something.
even if it's just a tiny echo, i prove something.
that marks the proof of my non-complete godhood. i seek to remove this emotions, once and for all. For that however, i need to become a full fledged god.
my servants are the shadows. those who creep in the light of the day, who mock him, who show him that he is not powerful.
But my actions are kept away from the god of death, for in the darkest of night my servants are powerless, without light, i seek to become the Omega of things, and i will become it.

Name: Kor
Type: Elemental
Domain: Stasis/Cold/Ice
Gender: Nil
Alignment: 25/75
Avatar: A shadow, with snow constantly falling around him.

Followers: Cult of the unchanging.
Brief Follower Bio: People join the cult to escape from change, either because they predict that something bad will happen, or they have an extremely happy life and wish it to remain so. After joining they get stuck in their ways, knowledge and skills. Every year the same, every month the same, every day the same. Nothing ever changes about them, unless something forces them to.

Divine Friend: Rahen, Demi-God of Order, they have similar goals, but Rahen demands order, while Kor only wishes for things not to change
Divine Friend: Lel, Demi-God of Neutrality, balance is a way to achieve stasis
Divine Friend: Shade, Demi-God of Death, dead things do not change, they do not act

Divine Enemy: Krleg, Demi-God of Chaos, chaos brings change
Divine Enemy: Dulit, Demi-God of Paradoxes, paradoxes are unstable and lead to change
Divine Enemy: Almer, Demi-God of Ambition, ambition makes people act and do things out of the ordinary

Brief Bio: Ever since the birth of time and decay, things have wanted them to stop. Kor was born of that desire. The opposite to decay, change, and movement. The desire for all to stay the same. In his presence even water stops flowing.
During his godhood on pre-eden, it opposed all it could. Everything that moved, from the plants and the birds to winds that moved and the gods that acted. It attempted to stop all. It froze all it could. But it could not. It opposed too much, and it failed. But now the force of unchange has changed as its powers were weakened, it understands that it needs to be more fluid to become more solid. It must endure the pain to bring about the end.

Name: Aevum Chronos
Type: Etheral
Domain: Time, lifespans
Gender: Male
Alignment: 50%/50%
Avatar: An elderly man, bearing long white hair and a large beard, dressed in simple robes and sandals and constantly carrying a candle.
Followers: The Sentinels.
Brief Follower Bio: The Sentinels are made up of individuals of every race, who have given up their loyalty to their former tribes, cities, nations, or what have you in favor of following a greater cause. The Sentinels are tasked by Aevum with helping him preserve the sanctity of time, and thwarting those who would try to defy it or twist it to their own ends. They help to make sure every living thing lives out it’s allotted time, no more, and no less, and have been granted powers by Aevum to help them do this. The Sentinels dwell in a large monastery located high in the mountains, where Aevum himself dwells.

Divine Friend: Shade, demigod of death. An ally in ensuring those who live do not live beyond their allotted time.
Divine Friend: Rahen, demigod of order. Aevum seeks to maintain order as well, as far is time is concerned.
Divine Friend: Ormul, demigod of Fate. Aevum works closely with Ormul, to determine the time allotted to each thing.
Divine Friend: Lel, demigod of neutrality. Time isn’t good or evil, it simply is.

Divine Enemy: Nox Noctis, demigod of undead. Every living thing has a lifespan, and those who go beyond it are abominations in Aevum’s eyes.
Divine Enemy: Magus, demigod of magic. The most common cause of time being thwarted is magic.
Divine Enemy: Dulit, demigod of paradoxes. What Aevum works against, Dulit thrives in.
Divine Enemy: Kor, demigod of stasis. Time is change, and time constantly flows forward.

Brief Bio: Aevum Chronos is the child of Zalfear, and helps him in maintaining and preserving time. Since his birth, Aevum has been making a candle for each thing. When they are born, he lights the candle. And when the candle finally burns out, the thing’s allotted time is up. There are tiny candles for insects and such, and large candles for nations and cities. There are even a couple massive ones that burn for Existence and the Void, and one for himself as well.
