You know it was almost a year ago today that I started my first and most successful b12 RPG. With winter break coming up again, I might as well give it another go...

This game is going to have elements of both a tribes/godhood game and a coopretive group adventure. You can be as friendly or hostile with each other as you want to be, but once I get bored and introduce the mcguffin to end the game, there will likely be only one winner...

Your grip on the world is fading. The mortals have advanced technologically to the point where your lot is of no further use to them. You are weakened, tired, and perhaps dying... But not beaten.

When a being of great power and limited mortality such as yourself begins to become obsolete he or she watches the stars for cosmic vacancies. To your great fortune, the stars have spoken!

“Wanted” they spell for you. “Deities to mold an rule a refurbished world. Potential for promotion. Must have power enough to breach the celestial spheres and reach the place of employment on your own. Demigods need not apply.”

You reach the refurbished world and settle into the divine dwelling set up for you and your new colleagues; a set of elaborate yet unfurnished marble buildings that stand on puffy white clouds. The clouds are aranged around the cone of a magical volcano that spews every naturally occurring element for you and your fellow deities to work with. Nearby is a coastal plain, where several mortal tribes have set up their home.

You know that somewhere far away lies the heart of this world, a sealed something-or-another that will crown whoever can get it open as Lord of This World. You hope to claim this title for yourself.

The Rules:

A PC’s turn consists of up to five phases. Each Deity may perform each of the four phases once a turn. If you cannot think of a use for all your phases on a given turn you may sacrifice your use of two phases to gain a second use of a third selected phase. In addition each race gets a free additional phase per turn. You may not give up your racial phase to earn another use of a different phase.

The Phases are as follows

-Terraform Phase: On the Terraform Phase a Deity attempts to manipulate the known enviroment of the mortal realm. Example Terraform Phase actions would be the raising of moutains, construction of buildings, and the unleashing of natural disasters.

-Exploration Phase: On the Exploration Phase a Deity attempts to gather knowledge by projecting him or her self onto the mortal realm. Searching a population for notable citizens, leafing through a library for mortal knowledge, or randomly wandering in a new direction or area in hopes of discovery are just a few of the things possible in this phase.

-Manipulation Phase: On the Manipulation Phase a Deity attempts to exert his or her control over a non-divine entity. Amoung other things the manipulation phase can be used to advance a loyal society, create or command heros and monsters, or sew discontent in a population loyal to a rival.

-Divine Phase: On the Divine Phase a Deity acts inside of the Divine Dwelling. Crafting Artifacts, Assaulting other Deities, and providing a proper afterlife for those who served you are all actions that could be performed here.

Note: The examples given on each phase are just that; examples. You can attempt any action on any phase so long as you can justify it against the basic description/purpose of that phase. Also some particularly complex actions will take more than one Phase. Moving objects to or from the Divine Dwelling to the Mortal Realm for example takes both a Divine Phase action and a Terraform Phase action.

Titan: The Titan is the largest and often the most feared Deity. They have incomprehensible strength and willpower. Titans may take an additional Terraform Phase each turn. To slay a Titan is a difficult feat that must be attempted by at least two other Deities either by attacking the Titan directly in the Divine Dwelling, or by throwing Heros, Monsters, and natural disasters at him while he roams the earth.

Spirit: Of all the Deities spirits are the closest to nature. Spirits are driven by nature or the supernatural, and are thus more in tune with the Physical realm. Spirits may take an additional exploration phase each turn. Spirits may be slain by powerful anti-magical effects or attacks of an element or magical school that opposes their own. If you are playing as a spirit at least one of your domains must be elemental or magical in nature.

God: No Deity is more is more in touch with mortals than the gods. A god’s strength and very existence stems from his or her followers. Gods may take an additional manipulation phase each turn. Gods cannot be directly killed, but may fade from existance if they have a severe shortage of followers.

Outsider: Outsiders are difficult to understand beings from a realm very much unlike our own. Outsiders comprehend how the divine realm functions far better than any mortal or other diety. Outsiders may take an additional divine phase each turn. Each outsider has his or her own personal deadly weakness, which they must guard from discovery.

Appearance: Usually seen as a tall grinning man wearing a cloak and leather armor.
History: Coming from...somewhere else Risth was a risk taker, and was oddly lighthearted. Having an odd fixation with the various games of chance that the mortals would play. The mortals who once worshiped him have entered a modern age, and they stopped believing in him over time. Eventually, all history of the worship of him was gone. Erased from history.

[The Fool]

Name: Luc'Valanraga the Law-bringer
Sex: Male
Appearance: Luc'Valanraga has a gaunt figure plainly adorned in robes. His near skeletal face is covered in dirt and blood. His pitch black hair is long, running to his shoulders, but held back with a black circlet adorned with black oynx. Always in his hands is a giant silver executioner's axe coated in jewels used to decapitate any lawbreaker deemed unworthy of his mercy. The robes are prismatic where the light hits, and white where it does not. Altars that depicted him were skulls wrapped in white cloth with nightshades in the eyes.
History: Luc'Valanraga has quelled great wars, and has killed a great deal of mortal beings to help bring peace to the lands he watched over. Over time the people turned their backs on him, and the stories of him became more and more twisted and changed until nothing was left of the original stories. After centuries of having no followers, Luc'Valanraga left the world, leaving massive amounts of deadly poison in the plants, and corruption in the hearts of their leaders to spread the seeds of their own destruction.

Ah, this was a char I never got to use. 

Name: Empathica
Sex: Female

Appearance: Typically, Empathica appears to her followers in a pale red shimmer of light and the subtle scents of wormwood and ash-followed by a great cold wind, that blows away the stale air and reinvigorates the mind, body and soul. She appears as a Centaur to her chosen followers. Her lower body is typically that of sorrel horse, and her upper body that of a comely female of about 25 years, with red hair and green eyes. She usually has a look of restlessness and impatience about her. Empathica often appears wearing little more than a loose, immodest robe on her upper body and a headband on her forehead, both reddish-black in coloration, but she also carries a long spear made of four entwining red crystals and tapering into a four pronged trident shape a it's head.

History: Empathica is a young spirit-born of the fevered dreams of those who lived life to it's fullest and fought as hard as they loved...yet still died unfufilled. She left the old world not because she was fading, exactly ...but because the sheer amount of hopelessness and lack of unity, love and freedom in the 'modern' world began to overwhelm even her. The next will be better...

History: Kyazir was once the offspring of two unknown deitical figures, despite their often conflicts. Kyazir discracted himself from their fighting by building some of the most wonderous thinigs a mortal could ever lay eyes on.

Appearance: A towering winged humanoid with hooves, dark red skin, solid golden eyes, and sharp black teeth, horns, and claws.
History: A builder of empires and an enforcer of the strong controlling the weak, Dagmach's people ultimately became indolent and soft, unwilling to do what must be done for glory and progress. He's disgusted at them and at his own failure, and intends to not make the same mistake twice.

Appearance:Exial takes the form of a tall, dark skinned humanoid. His hair hangs down in long, dark braids. He wears large bracelets of steel and his only article of clothing is a lower portion of a robe(a manskirt, if you will). His teeth are pointed.

History: Exial had spent most of his existence attempting to gain complete control over the previous world. He sees most of the actions of the other deities as wasteful, and feels everything would be far better off if it was all up to him. He failed before, but this world is young and new. Now is his chance to bring his vision into fruition.

Domains: Power, trust, perfection.

He wears armor/clothing of platinum and gold, laced with silver, and encrusted with emeralds, rubies, sapphires and diamonds, and if forced to fight he does so with a platinum hammer with a large tipped ruby on one end and a large tipped emerald on the other, with a sapphire encrusted side and a diamond side.
History: He was worshipped by the dwarven civilizations, the god of wealth, before the ingrates had the silly idea they THEY invented the idea of wealth.
