I've been playing a long-ass fortress and recently got access to a magma vent only to find I can't build magma smelter.

I've scoured the buglists and changelogs and can't find any mention of the magma smelter being axed or changed. Has it been removed or moved to another menu? I can't find it anywhere.

Here is a screenshot of the smelter menu. The smelter itself cannot have any part of it over magma and even when placed near magma, it won't utilize it.

Looks like you used Reveal.exe

Which means you can't build magma smelters unless you use the enable magma buildings utility. It doesn't register that you found magma when you use Reveal, so you don't get to build magma smelters.
