In Albion Prelude, OOS (out of sector) nividium mining is no longer effective.  Although you can still use it for some start up capital.  However the fastest way to raise capital quickly is through picking a faction or two you don't mind pissing off and then pirating their ships as they pass through "Pirate Alley".  Getting a few TSs to bail can net you lots of money.  Getting weapon dealers to dump their cargo also can net good money.  Once you have the money for marines and boarding pods, you can start pirating capitals for even better money.

So in addition to the X-Superbox getting a 75% discount on Steam, we have Albion Prelude 2.5 which adds a Terran plot.

Has anyone tried it yet? I'm wondering if it's worth starting a new game as a Terran.

Any word on how to start/access this terran plotline?

I'd love to play this again but the fact that the game does not support multi-threading and X: Rebirth is coming out kill my motivation.

Another question. In previous X games you could have the game utilize both monitors in a two monitor setup. Is that still supported? In the case I am remembering, you could have the main cockpit HUD on one monitor and a second information display on the other.

I've noticed this too. Its been a while since I played the game, but I haven't found a single mobile drilling system in stock anywhere (playing albion prelude btw). Also, I noticed that some ships can equip 'repair lasers'. Where do you buy those?

As far as I know the only vanilla repair laser is the one in your space suit you have when you eject.

Is there a mod that makes them available for purchase? Several ships can mount them, seems like a strange thing not to include them. Especially when repairs are so damn expensive.

Well, modding them in to ships would have the benefit of firing multiple lasers at the same time.
Tossing the most lasers you can into a heavy warship would get you some pretty quick repair times. Would be lovely for repairing anything larger than a fighter.

That's assuming the effect is cumulative anyway.

Yes I know that there is one on the suit. It is completely inadequate for anything bigger than a fighter. It takes a long time with even heavier fighters. If I could put 2-3 of them on a small ship and use it as a repair drone, it would have more power available than the spacesuit so it wouldn't run out all the time and it would go much faster with 2-3 lasers.

I mean really, the repair costs at shipyards are just silly. I started as a Terran commander and took about 20% damage on the starter ship during an engagement. It would have cost nearly 400k to repair. I am a military commander and they want me to pay for repairs to damage incurred during a war. Its just silly, plain and simple.
