Southerns may wear lighter stuff than northerns but they still wear things such as metal plate armor and so on.

checking out their items in the entity file they can still use warplate and such, but have a bit less options than the northerns about their armor and weapon capabilities. I also gave them much more range weapon choices.

While waiting on the next df version, here have some jingle berries and glowing sergal eyes :D


3.5
-added the frosty arctic plants: jingle berry, cloudberry, and frost root. This should help northern sergals(and others) into icey biomes
-jingle berries can not be brewed, but can be replanted (only in good biomes)
-cloudberrys can be brewed and replanted
-frost root can be brewed and cooked but not replanted

- biome changes
-removed [BIOME:ANY_TEMPERATE] from northern sergals
-removed [BIOME:FOREST_TAIGA] from nevreans

-added [BIOME:ANY_TEMPERATE] southern sergals
-added [BIOME:FOREST_TAIGA] to northern sergals
-added [BIOME:FOREST_TAIGA] to feral sergals

-tag changes
-added [GLOWTILE:'"'][GLOWCOLOR:4:0:1] to all sergal breeds

I noticed all the races die of old age before any become necromancers much of the time X3

But loads of vampires on this one small island southern sergal civ X3

I guess it can be a bit expected, in vanilla df there are very few civ races that have a short life expectancy, dwarfs live from 150 to 170 years. Elves and goblins are immortal, and humans can last from 60 to 120.  Looking at the mod's raws most creatures from it live from 90 to 120 years at max if they aren't killed off before or some such, so they last a little bit longer than humans.

Its a bit funny because i was originally going to go entirely off the official maximum age for sergals at 60 or so, however most of the forts consisted of 16 to 20 year olds. certainly interesting if i ever poke around the ages again, they seem fairly basic as they are right now.

I see. I will stop this spam, but at least say there might of been a few southern sergal necro guys in one world at least form being among the oldest living of them :3

nah that was far from spam, Its interesting to see a necromancer sergal though, i don't normally get those in testing, except the one time I used the world with 40 or so necromancer towers XD

how did you get 40 towers? Imagine if you remove the sterile tag from them :D

and maybe it will happen if I let there be humans or other longer living races at least.

after some arena testing with various weapons vs the same of the brass, i can say at least for now that brass is stronger than plastic as 7/10 ,on average, brass clad dwarfs survived against 10 plastic clad dwarfs.

Alright... i need a bit of an honest response on this. are the male nevrean flyers too annoying to have in fortress mode? Constantly catching themselves in areas they refuse to escape from and dieing. I've wanted to have them fly but the pathing seems too chaotic to use functionally besides in adventure mode. If i remove the flyer tag i guess i can increase their dodge or agility skills so that they are more "graceful" and can dodge easier by "flying" without actually flying.


just post a quick response, I'll give it a day or so before i make the change if it comes to that. I'd rather it be playable than confined tightly to something that causes frustrations.

hm. I have not noticed neverean flyer trouble. I just usually play in adventure mode as a southern sergal or zess outsider.
